Spartan Weekly
News from Glen Crest Middle School: November 3rd, 2024
From the principal
We have some spirit days coming up, please encourage your student(s) to participate. On Thursday, November 7, our theme is "dress for success." For Veterans Day (November 11), our theme is red, white and blue. We would like to remind our students that we will be having an assembly for Veterans Day and we should be dressing respectfully for this event.
As November begins, please be sure to encourage your students to wear hats, gloves and coats to school. Our students will be outside before school starts, and again during lunch. We appreciate your support!
Just a reminder: Monday, November 4, is a teacher institute day and a non-attendance day for students. Tuesday, November 5, (Election Day) is also a non-attendance day for students.

Veterans Day assembly: Monday, November 11
On Monday, November 11, the social studies department will be hosting their annual Veterans Day Assembly at Glen Crest Middle School.
There are a few options for students to get involved...
1) Students can bring in a veteran that they are related to or a relative of.
There will be a pastries and coffee served to all veterans at 7:30 a.m. in Spartan Hall. Then, your student will escort their veteran to the assembly.
If your student would like to bring in a veteran, we ask that you complete the Google Form linked below to RSVP your veteran. Veterans that are not on the RSVP list may not come to the assembly. Please complete RSVPs by Friday, November 8. This is to ensure we have enough food and seats reserved for our veterans!
The assembly will end around 9:15 a.m.

2) Add a picture of a veteran you know to our Veterans Day slideshow!
Another way to contribute to the Veterans Day ceremony is by submitting a photo for a slideshow/video presentation. Students also have a copy of this form, but we wanted to share it with you so you can work with your student to submit it. Photos are due by Wednesday, November 6.
