Holy Spirit Academy
June Newsletter
Principal's Message
We are almost there! It is very important to keep an eye on the dates in this newsletter and all communication from teachers. We will have our Year-End Mass on June 6th at 1:30 pm, our K-5 Year-End Awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 18th at 2:00 PM in the HSA gym, and a Grade 6 Moving-Up Ceremony and Awards ceremony on Friday, June 21st at 9:45 AM in the HSA gym. Parents of children receiving an award will be contacted by the school. Similar to last year, we ask that each family do their best to have no more than 2 guests for our award events; we are very understanding if given childcare requirements this is not possible and we will do our very best to accommodate for you.
We are busy making plans for next year, teachers, in collaboration with school administration and learning support, are creating class lists for next year. As you can appreciate, much thought, care, and discernment go into making class lists. We look at behaviors, academics, friendships, ISP's, SSP's, teaching styles, needs of children, and more when creating them. We make efforts to accommodate requests, when possible, but moving students around can create less than optimal learning conditions for students and teachers, and changing rooms is not always possible.
With that, If your child[ren] will not be returning to Holy Spirit Academy next year we would ask that you please let the administration team or the office staff know as soon as you can. This helps us when making class lists, helps us to ensure appropriate class sizes, and has many other staffing implications. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Take care and God bless.

HEALTHY SCHOOLS
Summer Snacks Initiative
In collaboration with Forester's Financial and School Council, we are engaging in a good works project to provide summer snacks and food to families in need. We have many students who access food and snacks throughout the day at school. If you or someone you know may be in need of additional nutrition for children over the summer months, please use the form below to submit so that we can hopefully provide food and some financial relief to those in need. We are so thankful for the grant through Forester's Financial for this opportunity, and the continued support from School Council. The information shared is kept secure and only shared on a need-to-know basis. Please click HERE to fill out the form.
National Indigenous Peoples Day
On June 21, for National Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize and celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada. HSA will have lessons for students throughout the week and other activities to celebrate Indigenous culture!
