April 2025
Families,
Happy 4th quarter! Students are working hard to get one whole week of our attendance being at 95%. If we reach this goal, we will have a party on the blacktop. There will be music, bubbles, games, and more! Please help us reach our goal by ensuring your student is at school all day, every day!

Title 1 Parent and Family Survey
Our Title 1 survey helps us reflect on our Title 1 events from this year and plan for the following year. Please help us by completing this survey. I appreciate your help!
Attendance Challenge
Attendance
- Late Arrival
- If your student arrives at 7:20, guardians are required to bring the student into the office and check them in.
- Thank you so much for your support and work with this. We have reduced the number of late arrivals from the 100's range to the 50's range for multiple weeks.
- Celebrations:
- Our building attendance took a hit due to illness but has been rising. Currently we are at 91.54% attendance rate. Our building goal is to reach 95 by the end of the year.
- How can we help?
- We understand each situation is unique and you might face barriers for attendance. Our team is here to support and help remove barriers. If you are in this position, please reach out as we would love to partner with you to support.
- GOALS:
- The students with 95% or higher attendance monthly will celebrate with an extra recess and snack!
- Classrooms are goal setting and celebrating as a class weekly when they meet their attendance goals. Connect with your classroom teacher if you have questions.

Kindergarten Orientation
Calling all incoming Kindergarten students and their families! We are excited to invite you to Delaware to meet our Kindergarten teachers, share Delaware specifics and kindergarten readiness skills, a building tour and more!
Bowling Tournament-- Unified Schools
We are beginning a Unified Champions Schools program at Delaware. We will be the first school in SPS to have a UCS program! The Unified Champions program is a Special Olympics program that promotes social inclusion by pairing students with developmental disabilities (athletes) with typically developing peers (partners).
This year, we are holding a Family Bowling Night and tournament. We invite you to support our athletes from 5:00-5:30. Then participate in family bowling and other activities, including concessions. There are limited spaces to sign your family up for a 30-minute block of bowling.

Explore Summer School
Make Explore part of your summer plans!
Explore Guides were sent home yesterday and watch for Explore Forms to be sent home next week, which you can complete and return for easy registration.
This summer, Explore will offer students exciting opportunities to pursue their unique interests and passions. Each day they will learn, create, invent, and discover through engaging learning opportunities, including free Artworks classes.
Last summer some of our Delaware classes filled before our Delaware students were able to register, register or return your form quickly to ensure you can get a spot!
Seated and virtual classes for K-8 students will be offered June 2-27. Virtual classes for grades 1-12 will also be offered June 30-July 25.
Students in grades 3 through 8 have the opportunity to enroll in free Artworks classes at three locations—Bingham and Cowden Elementary Schools and Central High School.
Elementary students will attend Explore classes Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Middle school and K-8 students will attend from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration for elementary students begins March 6. Registration for middle school students begins March 5.
