"One Stampede, The Kingdom Way"
This Week
Stampede Families,
We had another productive week at PWBHS. Thanks for all you do to support our mission of providing an excellent education for each and every child, each and every day. Take a look at our weekly reminders and reach out if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Eric F. Hines,
Principal
Core Values
Our core values represent who we are as a school and our commitment to growing strong, well-rounded leaders inside the classrooms and throughout our communities. We will do all things with excellence and strive towards exhibiting our values and mission each and every day...The Kingdom Way!
- PWBHS Volleyball defeated Hueytown and Pleasant Grove last Thursday.
Reminders
Help us keep our campus safe and provide each and every child the allotted time for instruction by adhering to the following reminders.
1. It is very important that each and every child be in their 1st Period Class by 8:25 am. Students who are late and are accompanied by their parents must be signed in and will be allowed to report to class. All other students who are late will be subject to immediate ISI placement. Students who arrive after 8:25 am must check in at the main office.
2. All student drivers must purchase a $10 decal. This is a safety measure that must be adhered to. Students have had a two week grace period to make this purchase. Automobiles of student drivers who have not purchased a decal will be subject to towing beginning tomorrow.
3. Speak with your child(ren) about not opening the exit doors for anyone. This measure allows us to monitor those entering our building and prevents persons from roaming our building unaccounted for.
We invite you to join our PTA
Joining PTA will allow you to make a positive impact on our school! Your involvement is very necessary and helps to make each and every child's experience an awesome one. PTA dues are $5 for students and $10 for parents. You can send your dues by your child to me and I will make sure you receive a receipt immediately. We delayed electing officers last week but will proceed by end of this week. We’d love to have you as a part of our team. Join us in making a difference!
Attendance Awareness Month
The entire month of September is Attendance Awareness Month. Please encourage your child to wear Green every Thursday throughout the month of September in support of Attendance Awareness Month.

Are you registered to vote?
A special election will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, asking Tuscaloosa residents to consider an increase in ad valorem rates to support the Tuscaloosa City Schools. In order to vote in that election, you must be a registered voter and have lived in the city of Tuscaloosa at least 30 days.
If you are not a registered voter but would like to participate in the referendum vote, you must register to vote by Sept. 10. You can confirm your voter registration status, register to vote or search for your specific polling location on Alabama’s election website. Absentee voting is also currently open.
For more information on polling locations and absentee voting, click HERE.
Progress Reports
Progress Reports were sent home on Friday. Because of a glitch in Power
School, some grades may not have been visible. If by chance your child's grade(s) did not post, notify his or her teacher. Don't forget, you can also view grades in PowerSchool.
InfoSnap & CCR
We want to emphasize the importance of registering your student for InfoSNAP. Keeping your contact information current is crucial for receiving timely updates and important communications.
For parents of seniors, staying updated ensures you don’t miss out on key information regarding senior events, post-secondary planning and information as it relates to your students’ graduation.
For parents of underclassmen, accurate contact details are equally vital. They help us keep you informed about 4-year planning, course registration, and valuable college and career readiness opportunities, including Xello. Xello is a powerful tool that supports students in exploring career options, setting goals, and preparing for college applications and work opportunities. If you have questions on how to register for InfoSNAP, please reach out to our registrar or your students counselor.
Your timely registration ensures you and your student have access to all necessary information and resources.

A Tax Referendum Session is coming to PWBHS.
Continuing our progress and programs
In recent years, the Tuscaloosa City Schools have seen incredible progress, and offer a variety of programs to ensure each and every student is able to achieve. In order to continue our academic progress, continue current programs, and offer the best education possible for our students, additional funding is required.
TCS has put programs and personnel in place that are make a real and tangible difference in the outcomes of our students. Those programs are at risk, however. On Tuesday, September 24, the Tuscaloosa community will vote on a proposed increase to the ad valorem rate. If approved, it would mean guaranteed pre-K for all, the expansion of art and music to year-round in elementary schools, plus driver's ed in high schools, investment in school safety, competitive compensation for teachers and more. If the referendum fails, it means TCS will have to make difficult budget cuts that will impact every school, and pull back programs that are making a difference.
Fall Picture Day
Students in grades 9-11 are asked to participate in Fall Picture Day, which is scheduled for Thursday, September 12, 2024. You may place your order at mylifetouch.com using the Picture Day ID: EVTTTST2M.
