A Note from Mrs. Solomon
Stay healthy Wild Rose! We have had quite the week of things with students and staff. Please continue to practice healthy habits and we hope everyone can be on the track to Happy and Healthy as they say at Walgreens ;0).
Speaking of Happy - Next week we are going to really demonstrate our kindness with Random Acts of Kindness. It is officially RAM week the following week, however we are not in school all five days and we want to be sure to give extra special attention to the acts of kindness we can all do each and every day. Please see the information below.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you are watching the super bowl hope your team is the winner! There can only be one ;0).

Random Acts Week at Wild Rose
Wild Rose will be helping to “Choose Kindness”
because “Random Acts Matter!”
Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 10-14 and
The Student Council is asking you to get involved…
Monday – Wild Rose Spirit Day!
Show your school pride by wearing your Wild Rose spirit wear or school colors today. It would also be a great day to say thank you to the people at school who may not hear that you appreciate them enough –our custodian, lunchroom helpers, specials teachers, nurses, secretaries, teaching assistants, and anyone else that you can think of who helps make Wild Rose a special place to be!! Let’s let those adults know that we appreciate all that they do for us!!
Tuesday – Give a compliment to someone… make as many people as you can smile by saying something nice! See your teacher for a special “Random Acts Matter” heart and share a special compliment or thank you in writing to make it EXTRA special! Remember “random acts” matter!!
Wednesday – “Rainbow Colors of Kindness” Day (by grade level)
K: Red; 1: Orange; 2: Yellow; 3: Green; 4: Blue; 5: Purple
Today is your opportunity for acts of kindness for others…look for ways to show kindness by holding the door, helping someone who might be having a difficult day, asking if they need help with their work, or even including a new friend at lunch or recess. Even small acts of kindness can make a BIG difference in someone’s day!
Thursday – Today is THANK YOU BUS DRIVER or whoever helps you get to school!! We have special thank you notes to bus drivers, parents, grandparents, daycare providers, or whoever helps make sure that you make it to and from Wild Rose safely…this small act of kindness will mean A LOT!
Friday – Happy Valentine’s Day!
Share valentine cards and wishes with those that you care about! But what a “random act” would be sharing a valentine card with someone in your life that might not expect it! Brighten their day with a special valentine wish just from you!
Random acts matter this week and every week!
Other ways that you can get involved during the week:
· Try “Random Acts” at home. Tell a family member how much you appreciate them or help out when someone doesn’t expect it. Won’t that be a pleasant surprise?
“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people can
transform the world!”
Spring Conferences
On Thursday, February 27th, all elementary students in D303 will have a half-day of school due to our Spring parent-teacher conferences. These conferences serve a different purpose than our Fall goal-setting conferences. Spring conferences provide teachers the opportunity to connect with families of students to discuss progress towards goals and areas for growth. The February 27th conferences have a much shorter time frame of 1:05 to 3:25. This means that teachers will only be able to meet with a few families that afternoon. Your child’s teacher will be sending a letter home with either a request to meet or a message stating that a conference is not necessary at this time.
Due to the 12:00 dismissal, students will not have lunch at school that day. All classrooms will take a snack break at some point in the morning.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.

AUTHOR VISIT!!
Wild Rose is lucky to have author Leslie Vedder visiting our 3rd and 4th grades on Thursday, February 13th sharing her new book, The Labyrinth of Souls. If you are interested in purchasing a signed copy, you will find the order form on your child's PushCoin account or by using the link below. Students not attending the event are also able to purchase the book.
Valentines for Valentine's Day
Valentines Day is just 14 days away! There a not classroom parties that require volunteers. Teachers will be engaging in different activities with their classrooms or grade level. Should you choose to send in valentines with your child please know they should have a valentine for each student in their class. If the valentine includes candy, that is okay, just know we will be sending home any valentine day candy home for students and their families to determine what they can have. Candy will not be eaten here at school. But we completely understand that many valentines cards are candy and they will be allowed to be passed out. Please d
