Greetings Jackets!

Monday, Nov. 25th and Tuesday, Nov. 26th will be normal school days. Our Thanksgiving break will be Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 27th-29th. We sincerely hope that everyone has a wonderful and restful break! We look forward to seeing everyone back Monday, December 2nd, as we kick off our champion season at BHS...More details to come!

The Beta Club is sponsoring a Parents' Night Out on December 13 from 5-10 in the Multipurpose Building.

The Beta Club is accepting payments for the Beta Convention. The deposit is due on December 2, for $100. The permission slips were passed out in the Beta meeting today.

The total cost for the trip is $350.

The chorus is having their chorus concert on December 9th at 7:00 PM in the multipurpose building!

The Model UN club is going to a conference in Fort Mill on December 3rd.

Band Concert - December 10th at 6pm

Academic Challenge @ Indian Land 12/11 - 4:00

The National Honor Society will be volunteering at HOPE after school on Tuesday December 3rd. Members who signed up should get a waiver from Mrs. Conwell and bring it with them on December 3rd.

BHS Art Dept Paint Night on Saturday, December 14th, from 2-4pm.

$20 per person, 5 options to choose from to paint.

Hot chocolate and snack cakes sold on site- cash only.

Sign up will be shared on social media after Thanksgiving break.

Must sign up before the day of so canvases can be prepped.

If your student is taking English 2, Algebra 1, Biology 1 or US History they will be taking an EOC (end of course state exam). EOCs are REQUIRED by the South Carolina State Department of Education. Taking the exam as part of the course is a diploma requirement and is worth 20% of their final grade. Please avoid scheduling appointments or other events for your student that interfere with taking the EOC at the scheduled time. Personal electronics are NOT ALLOWED at any time during or after testing. This includes phones, earbuds and smart watches. This is to protect the security of the exam and promote a fair testing experience for everyone. If students are seen with ANY of these devices, the teacher is REQUIRED by the state testing authority to confiscate the device. It will then be turned over to administration and law enforcement to be searched.

Attention BHS Juniors! The Good Samaritan Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to Lancaster County Juniors who serve the needs of others in extraordinary ways. One of the scholarships will be given to a junior at BHS! If you are a service-minded student, you are encouraged to apply online. Posters have been placed around the school with more information on how to apply. Completed applications are due by November 30th at midnight.

• The School Counseling Department is open from 7:45 am to 4:15 pm by appointment only.
• Students will need to complete a request form before meeting with a counselor.

Flu shots will be given to BHS students free of charge on

December 3rd in the BHS nursing office.

A parent consent is needed for each student. Consents can be found online on the BHS website.

**All consents must be submitted by November 24th**

If you have children at other schools, check their websites for dates that the Flu Clinic will be coming to your student's school.

Safety is a top priority at the Lancaster County School District! Lancaster County Schools will institute a clear bag policy for home athletic and designated events. Spectators will be permitted to carry one large clear bag. What kind of bag is appropriate? See examples below!
