A Note From the Principal
Hello Hemmenway Families!
May is the month for celebrating all that our Tigers have accomplished during the school year! We have seen so much growth in our students academically and behaviorally. We look forward to our Spring Choir Concert, along with 5th grade and Kindergarten Graduation ceremonies. This is also the season of celebrating the hard work of our teachers and staff for pouring into our Tigers every day.
Help us finish the year strong by meeting our campus goal of 97% attendance this month. Ensuring your students come to school on time at 8:45am, and remain throughout the entire school day until 4:10pm will help us get there.

Reminders
- Grading & Attendance Info - In order for a student to receive credit or a final grade for a class, a student is required to attend class 90 percent of the days class is offered regardless of whether the student's absences are excused. A student who has more than 16 absences for the school year could be in danger of not being promoted to the next grade. So if your child is not sick, please get them to school.
- For parents of primary students, please pack an extra set of clothing in your student's backpack, in the event of an accident.
- Be mindful of your speed when entering the campus driveway for Car Rider - We want to be sure to keep our entire school community safe.

- Transportation Changes - If you are emailing transportation changes, please include a picture of your handwritten note along with your ID to Hemmenway@cfisd.net . Continue to check your email to ensure that you receive a reply from the campus. If you do not receive a reply, please call the campus at 281-856-9870 to share information with the receptionist. Remember, all transportation changes must be made prior to 3:00pm.

As the end of the school year approaches, we would like to remind you to pick up any medications you provided to the school clinic this year. According to CFISD Board policy FFAC (local), medications must be retrieved from the clinic by a parent/guardian or designated responsible adult. Please make arrangements to pick-up your student’s medications 5/30, 5/31, or 6/3 from 7:50-9:00am or 3:30-4:30pm. Medications not collected by this deadline will be disposed of according to CFISD policy. Thank you for your assistance, Abby King, BSN, RN (281) 856-9853.

Life Skills
This year we will have two days for lunch visitation - Tuesdays and Fridays! We will continue to use the registration link to sign-up to make the process smooth when you come to enjoy lunch with your student. We will have enough spots to ensure you and your students can sit together on the stage. You will be able to register up to 2 visitors per student for no more than 2 lunch visits per month. This ensures more parents can share this time with their students.
