A Note From Mrs. Looman
Tonight's the night!! Join us at 5:00 for the Student Art Show and then stay for Family Reading Night. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. Lots of read alouds and free books!
A huge thank you to the PTO for all of the ways they spoiled us this week for Staff Appreciation Week. We received cards, letters, flower, raffle prizes, had an extra all school recess and a delicious lunch. We are so grateful for all the ways you all pitched in to help!
Next week, our band students will be joining the other band students in the district, as well as the Shelburne Falls Military Band for "Band Together", a performance being held on Thursday, May 16th at 7:00pm in the MTRS gymnasium.
Please be sure you are kept up to date with all the events happening throughout the school. Please check https://colrain.mohawktrailschools.org/Calendar regularly to see what's going on.
Last week we had a special all-school assembly and presentation from Amy Donovan of Franklin County Solid Waste District. Students learned about the special dumpster for food waste at the Colrain Transfer Station (“the dump”). Households that separate their food waste for composting can reduce their trash volume and save money on the required town trash bags or stickers. In addition, Ms. Donovan educated staff and students about what is, and is not, accepted for recycling at school and how to sort lunch waste. Handouts were sent home in student folders this week.
