The Gator Gazette
Friday, March 7th, 2025
NHS students paid us a visit this week to talk with students about respect, leadership, and how to be sure everyone feels safe and welcome in our school. Thank you to all our NHS students who took time out of their day to connect with our Gators!
WHO WE ARE
THORNTON CREEK MISSION STATEMENT
We, the students, staff, and families of Thornton Creek share the responsibility of creating a safe and positive environment that promotes self-esteem, mutual respect, and optimum student learning.
Our Mission Statement is supported by the following Belief Statements:
Learning takes place at different rates and at different times
In utilizing multiple learning strategies
A positive climate fosters risk-taking
The application of problem-solving skills, higher-order thinking skills, and technology skills are critical to success in the 21st century
In facilitating avenues for self-expression and celebrating creativity
In encouraging students to reach their maximum potential for attaining knowledge
OUR COMMITMENT TO ALL
In Northville Public Schools, diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to opening a World of Possibilities for and with every student. We commit to developing a community that fosters a sense of belonging, respect, and access for all in order for students across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic factors, abilities, and identities to reach their maximum potential.
AWESOME GATORS: Students & Staff (& Families)
Gimkits in Grade 3
Earlier this week, I was invited into Mrs. Murrell's 3rd grade class to hone my multiplication skills alongside our mathematically gifted youngsters. Together, we "played" a few games while building our individual and collective math skills.
To learn more about Gimkits and how it can be used across the curriculum for all content areas, join us during our next PTA meeting on March 11th!
Volunteers
Thank you to our many parent volunteers who, throughout the school year, partner with our staff to provide top-notch experiences for and with our students and community.
Pictured above is just one shining example of a parent (Marielle Bishop) switching out our "Birthday Board".
Looking Ahead to AWESOMENESS!!
It has become a wonderful tradition across the district to host an annual STEAM Fair where students have the opportunity to shine and put their creativity and problem-solving on full display.
Well, it is almost that time of year again!
Please VIEW THIS VIDEO to learn all about this year's STEAM Fair and how to enter.
