Parents with students who receive Special Services are encouraged to submit the completed form, including the required supporting criteria to ensure eligibility for recognition of any staff that is making a difference in the life of a student with special needs.

Examples of staff to nominate for Make a Difference Award may be teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants, bus drivers, cafeteria staff or administrators.

Important Details:

• Nomination Deadline: All forms must be submitted by February 14, 2025, to Laura Miskelly at the MISD via van mail, email at lmiskelly@misd.net or faxed to (586) 263-6240.
• Award Ceremony: The recognition will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 6:00 p.m. at the MISD.
• Forms are fillable and may be submitted electronically.

Please help us in recognizing the outstanding individuals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students with special needs.

January Monthly Focus: Perserverance

We are still in need of a Finance Trustee to join the board for the remainder of this school year with the hopes to stay on for next school year as well. Erin Makl has graciously been covering and will help train the new person. We also still have two committees available to chair if you’re interested in a role within the BTV. Please email us for more info!

Does anyone have connections to a local storage unit or maybe own a business with warehouse space we could use? We are looking for indoor storage to house all of our 2025 Santa Shop merchandise. The sales were ahh-mazing after the holidays, so we already have a great start! And then we’ll continue shopping throughout the year.

We’d love to have somewhere we can easily access to put more bins/boxes as we fill them. There isn’t storage available to us at school and we REALLY would prefer not to give up our dining rooms and basements for the next 11 months. We need indoor storage so it’s climate controlled. We have candles/beauty products/etc. that we don’t want out in the super cold to then sit in the super hot over the summer.
