Week of August 25th Reminders
First Five Days of School
Jordan will operate on the 30-Minute Activity Period Bell Schedule for the first five days of school. On Days 1 and 2, "A Lunch” students should report directly to Period 2 and will be dismissed for lunch from Period 2.
Chromebook Distribution and Links to Purchase Chargers
- Students are allowed to bring their own laptop for use at school under the Durham Public Schools "Bring Your Own Technology Initiative" Board Policy.
- Chromebook distribution will take place in the media center during the following times: before Period 1 from 8:45 a.m. to 9:10 a.m., during all three lunches, and after school from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Students who did not return a Chromebook in June 2024 will not be issued a second Chromebook.

Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
- Students are able to enter the building at 8:45 a.m. since school starts at 9:15 a.m.
- Car riders should be dropped off at the traffic circle at the back of the school from the outer lane only. The inner lane is reserved for through traffic. Parents/caregivers should not use community venues such as Hope Valley Baptist Church and CVS, for drop-off and pick-up.
- The front lot is reserved for bus drop-off and the drop-off of students in the Exceptional Children’s program who receive special transportation. Any other family seeking to drop-off their child at the front of the school will be redirected to the traffic circle at the rear of the school. Student drivers have an assigned space in the student parking lots at the back of the school.
- At dismissal, car riders should be picked up at the traffic circle at the back of the school. Families cannot sign out their child “early” after 3:45 p.m.; after 3:45 p.m., students will need to wait for dismissal. Families are reminded that they will need to present an ID to check out their child.
- Avoid entering and parking in the following lots: the student lot, staff parking lot directly behind the school, and reserved spaces with signs or parking cones.
School Transportation
Families can look up transportation information on the district’s transportation app, Edulog Parent Portal. For bus stop concerns, a bus stop appeal form must be completed and submitted to transportation.
No Food Delivery
Food delivery for students during the school day is strictly prohibited due to consistent interruptions of instruction, theft of orders, and increased safety concerns (i.e., DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub, Papa Johns, Jimmy Johns, etc.). Delivery drivers will be turned away upon entering the campus. Students and families must refrain from ordering food for delivery to students. Jordan High School is not responsible or liable for lost funds when orders are canceled.
