Hello PVA families!
As we move into spring, our school community is buzzing with excitement and energy! With so many enriching events on the horizon, April promises to be a month filled with ambition and meaningful moments. This month's newsletter shares information about the upcoming CMAS state testing, school-wide talent show, Inclusion Day on April 18th, Pozole & Carnival Family Night on April 26th, and so much more. Required Annual Family Check-In Open Now
Annual Family Check-In (AFC) is required for ALL current students in Thompson School District. Families are required to have a parent or guardian in the current student’s primary household review and sign permission forms and update (if needed) the student’s household information, emergency contacts, and health information. Annual Family Check-In is located in the Parent Portal Account. For assistance, please contact Portal@TSD.org.

CMAS Testing This Month
Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) testing is fast approaching! Our 3rd through 8th grader students will be taking the state assessments from April 9th through April 26th. All 3rd - 8th grade students will test for ELA (English Language Arts) and Math, while 5th grade and 8th grade students will also be testing for Science.
Our students have been diligently preparing for the CMAS state testing, showcasing their knowledge and skills across various subjects. We are immensely proud of their hard work and dedication. Let's continue to support and encourage them as they embark on this important assessment journey.

As we anticipate this testing season, please continue to build healthy habits with your student so they are prepared. Some essential habits include:
- Going to bed early to ensure 8-10 hours of sleep each night
- Eating a nutritious, filling breakfast every morning
- Arriving at school on time each day
- Limiting screen time before bed to ensure a restful sleep

at their first home game!
Talent Show Auditions
April 17th, at 3:45pm
Pick up your Permission Form from Mrs. Kayser D44
Auditions are open to ALL grades. Please come to auditions with your talent, music and any supplies you need. Permission forms will need to be signed in order for you to audition. There will be 2 half group rehearsals and 2 whole group rehearsals.
Pozole Dinner & Carnival

Where: Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball, 2660 N. Monroe Ave., Loveland
Dinner served: 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Music, fun and activities: 6:00-8:00 p.m.
NO CHARGE FOR THE CARNIVAL!
Complete Meal is $10 per person and/or you can purchase items individually. Meal includes a bowl of pozole, a tamale, rice/beans, chips/salsa, churro or fruit cup and a beverage.
Tickets must be purchased by April 17th so we can prepare enough food.

Middle Level Students Missing Your Charger? Here's A Deal!
If your student is missing their Chromebook charger, there is a deal currently happening! You can go to our website and purchase their own ITS approved replacement charger directly from Amazon. The charger is currently on sale for $14.58! Families can save a little by getting a replacement rather than paying the $25 fine that will be applied to the student's fee account for a lost charger.
FREE Summer Camp for Incoming 7th, 8th and 9th Graders
Learn some skills, make new friend and have some fun while exploring the career pathways at the Thompson Career Campus. This camp is for incoming 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. Apply HERE.
The three TCC programs that are hosting camps are: Construction, IT/Cybersecurity, and Design & Manufacturing.
Dates: June 3-6
Attendees for the summer camp will be chosen via lottery system.
Each program will only have room for 15 attendees per session.
Families will be notified by 5/3 if they have received a spot in the camp.
The camps are open to rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders.
There is no cost for the camp.

Peakview Community Team - PCT (formerly PTO)

Are you interested in becoming more involved in our school community?
We would love to have you - parents, grandparents, guardians, family members, community members - as a part of our Peakview Community Team (PCT)!
Traditionally known as a PTO or PTA, this group will support the school-wide community through children's activities, family events, and fundraisers, while also advising PVA's school leadership, organizing volunteer opportunities, supporting teachers, arranging teacher meals for conferences, and more!

Dandelions Rising: Empowering BIPOC Youth
Dandelions Rising is a unique program designed to guide 7-18-year-old Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Children of Color in understanding their identity and navigating their communities as gendered and racialized beings.
Spring Series Details:
The spring series will take place monthly at the Cultural Enrichment Center (Fort Collins) from 4:30-6:30 pm on the following dates:

Thompson School District Bond Measure Survey
The Thompson School District invites you to participate in an important survey regarding public schools in our community and a potential property tax increase on the ballot this November. We greatly value your opinion, even if you do not have a student attending school in the district. So please participate and make your voice heard.
