Principal's Message
LES Parents,
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you—our students, staff, and families—who make our school community so special.
We are deeply thankful for the hard work and dedication of our students, who bring curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning every day. We are also incredibly grateful for our dedicated staff, whose passion and commitment ensure that our school is a place of growth, care, and support. And of course, we extend our sincerest thanks to all of our families, whose support, encouragement, and involvement help foster an environment where every student can thrive.
Thank you again for all that you do, and for being such an important part of our school family. We look forward to seeing our Tigers back in school on Monday, December 2nd!
Wishing you a warm and happy Thanksgiving!

Kindness Council Updates
Thank you to all of the families that donated to the Pass-it-On Food Drive. Our hallways were full of lots of items to donate! The L.I.F.E. Food Pantry will be able to support many families for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Thanks for your kindness and generosity!
For December, we will be doing a daily Kindness Challenge up until Winter Break. Please encourage your child to spread joy and cheer by checking off a challenge each day. Kindness Club members also made winter crafts that will be shared with residents at local nursing homes. If your child would like to make a card or craft, please feel free to send it in to Mrs. Westerman by December 6th and we will make sure it is delivered. LES will be delivering the cards/crafts to Magnolia Springs and The Lodge in Loveland the week of December 9th.
Thank you for supporting our Kindness Council and helping to spread joy this season!
Health Message
A few additional cases of Pertussis have been diagnosed at LES. This extends the date that families need to monitor their students for symptoms of Pertussis until 12/11/24. As a reminder, here is a letter about Pertussis we shared in a Tiger Talk earlier this month:
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We’re reaching out to notify you that a few students at LES have been diagnosed with Pertussis (whooping cough). To contain the spread of this infection, we are asking parents to monitor your child(ren) for symptoms, keep your sick child(ren) home, and take them to see a healthcare provider for testing and treatment if you observe any signs or symptoms of Pertussis. Please make your healthcare provider aware of this message if your child seeks medical care. The period of observing your child related to this exposure ends on 12/11/24.
Early signs of Pertussis are similar to that of a common cold, with a runny nose, sneezing, and mild cough. After one to two weeks, the cough becomes more severe and spasmodic. People can infect others from the time they begin to have cold-like symptoms until three weeks after the coughing episodes begin. Adults and children with DPT immunizations may have a milder disease. However, Pertussis can cause serious illness with sometimes fatal complications in young infants and persons with pre-existing respiratory disease. Unimmunized persons are also at risk and should consult with their physicians.
A person with Pertussis is infectious until they have completed 5 days of antibiotics. The Ohio Administrative Code (OAC 3701-3-13 (R)), states that “A person with Pertussis… if effective antimicrobial therapy is given… shall be isolated for five days after initiation of antimicrobial therapy.”
This means that if your child is diagnosed with Pertussis, they must remain at home and may not attend school, daycare, or other activities until five full days of antibiotics are given. Law requires that the local health department complete a full investigation when results are positive for certain infectious diseases, such as Pertussis, in order to prevent further spread. Here is a link to information about Pertussis from the CDC.
If you consult your healthcare provider, you may wish to ask if it is time to receive a combined pertussis and tetanus booster (Tdap) that is available for adults and children.
Please call your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns. You can also reach out to the LES office with questions or concerns.
Thank you for your attention to this matter,
Jennifer Forren

Holiday Wrapping Supply Donations
Each year LIFE Food Pantry provides a holiday shopping experience for local families. Families are able to choose gifts for each family member. All gifts are brand new and provided at no cost to the family. We serve over 200 families.
In addition to gifts, families receive wrapping supplies. There is a collection box in the LES lobby if you like to donate wrapping supplies--wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, and tape. All donations should be returned by Friday, December 6.
HOLIDAY SUPPORT
The holidays will be here before we know it! Every year, LES staff sponsors some of our families that need a little extra support during this time of year. Loveland community members are amazing and have expressed interest in helping us out as well. If you would like to help make the holidays extra special for some of our students and families, you may sign up below to donate a gift card(s). You can send the gift card to school with your student or drop it off at the front desk. Please put "Attention Sarah Albani" on the envelope. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Albani albanisa@lovelandschools.org. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Grandparents Great Influencers Day Information

Each student will have an opportunity to spend time at school with a grandparent or another person who has been a great influence in their life. Each LES classroom will have a different time throughout the day for their special event and recognition. Grandparents/Influencers will check in through our gym doors and will be directed to their student's homeroom.

***Due to space constraints, we will not be able to accommodate visitors for lunch. We ask that no younger siblings attend -- only adult visitors please.
***Please note that if a grandparent is going to sign out a student for the day, he/she will have to be on the emergency contact list along with a note or email from a parent/guardian. Time missed for the day will count as an absence or a tardy depending on the length of time.
