• Auditions for the Spring Musical are just around the corner! Monday, December 2, after school in the PAC! All CHS students are welcome to audition, bring your signed paperwork - see Mrs. Hammons in room 304 for the info/paperwork if you missed the meeting. See you on the stage!
• Drama Club Meeting Tuesday, December 3 at lunch in the PAC! See how you can be involved in Honors Theatre this spring and learn about our Toy Drive for the Bakersfield Homeless Center coming up on Christmas Eve! Snacks provided while supplies last! Bring a friend!

Seniors!! Senior Yearbook photo session with Hall Photography are CLOSED. Your last chance to be in the yearbook will be December 4th, Hall Photography will be on campus from 8:30am-12:30pm. Students who still need a photo will be reminded the day before but will not be called out of class the day of.

The CHS Athletic Booster Club is having their next meeting Monday, December 2nd at 6pm in the Library.

You can now pay with card or apple pay in the student store! There will only be 1 line open that will accept cards, all of the other lines will remain cash only!

Attention current Juniors with a minimum of a 3.8 GPA, you have the opportunity to apply for the Ford Dimension and Dream Builders student leadership programs. Attend the Ford Dream Builder Information Night on Monday, December 9th from 7:30 pm-8:15 pm at the Kern High School District Board Room at 5801 Sundale Ave.

Confirm your attendance by Wednesday, December 4th by email: forddreambuilders@gmail.com . State your first and last name and high school that you attend.

Applications will go live on the Ford Dimension website on December 9th and will close Friday, January 10th at noon.

• Hey Seniors, the FAFSA applications are now open. We know the financial aid application process can be confusing, so we are here to help. We are hosting a Cash 4 College event, Tuesday December 10th from 5-7pm in the Library for you and your parents to attend. We will have experts here to help you through the financial aid process. We will also be raffling CHS SWAG for your parents, a few gift cards for you and as an ADDED BONUS, 2 lucky Seniors will be winning a ticket to Formal. You can Register to attend in the Career Center.
• Good News! The original CSU Apply deadline for Fall 2025 was December 2nd. However, CSUB extended their deadline through December 13th. CSUB Admission Counselors will be in the Career Center Tuesday 12/10 from 2nd to 4th period. If you would like to submit an application, please stop by.
• Hey Hawks! If any of you are looking for Volunteer opportunities we have a great one for you! Volunteer Big Kern is an annual event that gives you an opportunity to come together and make a lasting impact through service in your community. This year volunteers can complete several projects for nonprofits throughout Kern County. Lets come together and show the community how kind hawks are. This event will take place on January 10th, 2025. We will have sign ups for this event until this Friday 12/13/2024. Please see Mrs. Likens to register for this event.
