- Philippians 4:19
- 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Looking Back on Last Week
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
Wow! What a magical week for students and teachers!
There were so many wonderful things that the PTF did this week, it is almost impossible to recap! Thank you so much to all the parents and volunteers that made Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week so wonderful!
Here are just a few of the things that took place.
- Monday - Teachers arrived to school to find their doors decorated and their faces photoshopped onto favorite characters. Mickey, Minnie, and Pooh Bear helped with morning carline. Teachers enjoyed Chicken Salad Chick for lunch.
- Tuesday - The gang from Toy Story was on campus to help with morning carline. Teachers enjoyed breakfast and their favorite coffee.
- Wednesday - Several of the Disney princesses and Prince Charming stopped by to greet students at morning carline. Teachers enjoyed fruit and donuts for breakfast and Lawler's BBQ for lunch.
- Thursday - A few Disney villains crashed the morning carline. Teachers took a break to eat a Chick-fil-A breakfast and spend a few minutes in the massage chair.
- Friday - The red carpet was rolled out for elementary teachers at morning devotion, complete with cheers and confetti. PTF invited teachers and staff to "Be Our Guest" for a special luncheon made dreamy with dessert filled china tea cups Belle, the Beast, Mrs. Potts, and Chip.
- All Week - Teachers were showered with thoughtful cards and special treats, gift cards, tote bags, and a new CCS t-shirt.
THANK YOU, PARENTS! It was a magical week!
Furry Friends
Some furry little friends visited campus one day. Thankfully they all found a home!
Toga Tuesday
Mrs. Haynes upper school Latin classes celebrated learning with a Toga Tuesday party. Students wore their togas (aka sheets) over uniforms and brought snacks to share.
FAWN Field Trip
6th grade students participated in the annual FAWN Day event at Sportsman's Lake. During this event students learn more about the environment, natural resources, and conservation.
Sports Reception
On Thursday evening student athletes and coaches were recognized at our annual Sports Reception.
The agenda included awards for Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Cheer, Track & Field, and Tennis. Also introduced tonight was CCS Athletic Director, Zac Smith. Mr. Smith will serve in a pivotal role to organize a booster program and support system for our growing athletics programs.
We would like to say a special thank you to event sponsors: ABC Family Medicine, the Roberts Family, and Shannon Green Dentistry.
Senior Cookie
Mrs. Law, former CCS teacher, stopped by to visit with graduating seniors and share a special congratulatory cookie.
Mother's Day Gifts
Students have been working on special Mother's Day gifts in their spare time at school. There were lots of smiles and excitement as they took home their special made gifts on Friday. We hope they made them home in one piece! Happy Mother's Day to all our CCS moms!
Athletic Physicals
On Friday athletes completed their annual physicals in preparation for spring training, summer play dates, and the upcoming seasons.
Math Drills
Mr. Yearwood spent some time drilling Kindergarten students on some pretty tough addition facts. Of course he had to make it a little competition.
Night of the Arts
On Friday evening we had another great night celebrating the talents of CCS students. During the Night of the Arts event, guests got to see a glimpse of a day in the life of CCS chorus and drama students as they reenacted some stand out moments from the school year.
Mrs. Kristi Warden and Mrs. Marisa Griffin put on a great program to showcase visual art pieces, chorus performances, the student worship band, drama sketches, improv, and more. The night was made complete with homemade cookies and refreshments compliments of parents.
