Congratulations to these nine Penn seniors who recently learned that they are National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists: Owen Black, Jacob Ciliberti, Lillian Gregory, Lily Meyer, Olivia Nijim, Noah Schafer, Connor Schmitt, Jayden Wang, and Felix Zhang! These Kingsmen have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered this coming spring to the Class of 2024. Nationwide, the Semifinalists represent less than 1% of all U.S. high school seniors; they are the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Thank you for your participation in this past week's parent teacher conferences. As a staff we hope you found the time informative and celebratory! Please know that we are here to support your student so that they continue striving toward becoming the best version of themselves. If you need guidance on how to help your student at home please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher. We have many resources! It is so exciting to see the "Skill, Will & Thrill" unfolding daily in our students. We appreciate the team work.

Our annual Fun Run is just around the corner! It will be at Schmucker Middle school on October 27th from 5:30-7. We are in need of Halloween and fall theme prizes. We will also need volunteers to hand tickets to kids as they complete the laps. Volunteers will also be needed to work the prize table and the hot chocolate stand. Students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes or fall attire to school on Friday, October 27. Costumes need to be school appropriate. No masks can be worn and if accessories are part of the costume there can not be any look a like weapons brought to school. If you are in doubt or have questions about costume choices, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher. We will have outdoor recess, weather permitting.
