We will be meeting with specific students regarding graduation requirements and diploma tracks. Teachers will be making necessary recommendations for schedule adjustments. No student walk-ins for schedule changes the first two days of school.
- Friday, August 9 and Monday, August 12
Student requests for schedule changes will start being seen. Students must turn in a “Counselor Request” form with an explanation of the requested schedule change and which criteria is met.
Reminder: Schedule Change Policy
Schedule changes can be requested based on the following criteria:
To meet a graduation requirement.
To meet a college admission requirement.
Per a documented medical reason.
Recommendation from a teacher that the current course selection is not appropriate.
Medical 504 or Individualized Education Plan need.
Why might my schedule look different than I expected?
- Then the master schedule is built to give the most students the most requests possible.
- Over 60% of classes are only offered once so the likelihood that a student will have a scheduling conflict is high.
- To resolve the scheduling conflicts the counselors checked the student's alternate course list, career goal, and available classes to make the best choice. If the conflict impacted an advance course then the individual student was consulted to make the choice.
*If you feel there is an issue with your schedule, for example a missing class or repeated course, email your counselor immediately after schedules have been opened.

IU Columbus Seamless Admission Process
IU Columbus and FRHC began a partnership in 2024 to streamline the college admission process removing barriers for Hauser students and increasing opportunities.
As counselors, we encourage all students to develop 3-5 options for post-secondary plans. There is no one "right" path. Students might develop plans to pursue apprenticeship training, workplace training, 2-4 year college degrees, technical certificates, military service, etc... The IU Columbus Seamless Admission Process will provide another option as students develop plans for their future.
During the registration process, the Hauser Counseling Department is asking permission to send your senior's demographic information and transcript including GPA to IU Columbus for admissions purposes. If granted permission, the information will be shared and simplified next steps will be communicated with the student. There is no cost and no commitment to agreeing to participate in the IU Columbus Seamless Admission Process. It simply provides a potential opportunity.
SAT and ACT- JUNIORS AND SENIORS
The SAT and ACT are college entrance exams. Juniors and seniors may need to take the SAT and/or the ACT exams for college admissions and/or scholarship consideration. For best results it is recommended that students take the SAT and the ACT twice during their junior year and then once again during the fall of their senior year. Juniors should be signing up NOW. Students can test at any testing center.
Hauser school code: 151565. (Juniors will take the SAT one time at Hauser during SAT School Day testing window in the spring at no cost. Date TBA.)
Students can test at any location on any date.
*Fee waivers (2 per test) are available to juniors and seniors on free and reduced lunch and/or 21st Century Scholars.
