Just finished Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros — book 2 in the Empyrean series — and OMG Violet Sorrengail’s second year at Basgiath War College is even more intense! Action? Twists? That CLIFFHANGER? I couldn’t put it down. If you loved Fourth Wing, you need this sequel in your life.

I recently reread 'True Biz' by Sara Novic, my choice for May's Community Book Club. This novel was my favorite read of 2023; it is a celebratory amalgam of deaf culture, teenage angst, punk rock, and our overarching need for human connection and community. I'll share some praise from a couple of my favorite authors:

"This is my favorite kind of novel, fascinating and smart and brimming with contrasts. It's a coming-of-age story but also one of anarchy and protest. I laughed. I learned.
