Our 5th graders are lunch buddies for our Kindergarteners
Dear Families,
What a relaxed, mellow week! Everyone settled in so beautifully. We were even graced by a heron flying low over the playground during Thursday afternoon recess. We are so fortunate to live where we can experience such beauty together.
Staffing update: I forgot to mention last week that Linda Smith has rejoined the staff for the first three weeks of school. She is working primarily in the 4/5 room. Also, as the district struggles to cover both substitute and staff shortage gaps, we will be sharing Courtney Aucoin, special educator and interventionist, with Cornwall for the next 2-3 weeks. Courtney will be at Weybridge M-F in the mornings.
Lunch volunteers: We had full volunteer coverage this week and hope that many of you will volunteer over the school year in this capacity. Next week we need volunteers for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you can volunteer for a day next week or later in the month, please email Christina at cjohnston@acsdvt.org . The time commitment runs 11:00-12:00.
Have a restful long weekend.

A Letter from the school nurse
My name is Dani Girard and I am so excited to be joining the Weybridge Elementary School community! This is my fourth year of school nursing and I’m happy to be joining ACSD where I went to school. I love hiking, sailing, reading and being a part of the great Vermont community. Looking forward to meeting you all!
Remember for the first day of school that if your student has an emergency medication that needs to be at school (inhaler or epipen) or takes a daily medication at school, then the school needs a signed medical note from the students PCP to accept it and give it to your student. Medications must be in original packaging and brought in by an adult.
Please review the 2024-2025 health guidelines and let me know if you have any questions!
Updated health information can be found on the health tab on the ACSD website.
General Illness Guidance
An individual who has any of the following significant symptoms of illness should stay home:
Fever > 100.4°F
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Flu-like symptoms
A rash of unknown origin
Any other symptoms or illness that impede a student's ability to learn
Testing is recommended for any COVID related symptoms, but not required.
Schools no longer stock rapid antigen test kits but they are available at Middlebury Regional EMS on Collins Rd in Middlebury or order home delivery at this link.
