PICTURES AND NEWS
MAPLE FESTIVAL PARADE
Students from St. Albans City School were well represented at the Maple Festival parade. The School's marching band and majorettes made our community proud. Here are photos taken by various staff members helping to orchestrate the event.
TRAVELERS 1ST GRADE - HISTORY OF THE EARTH
Ms. Culligan has been teaching the history of the earth with the first graders. Just before the recent spring break the students learned about fossils. It seemed fitting to make a few fossils with salty dough and dinosaurs. First, children flattened their dough balls. This was followed by pressing the dinosaur of their choice into the dough. These "fossils" will be baked and returned to the students. While waiting their turn at the fossil making table, students focused on dinosaur work and coloring sheets.
ADVENTURERS PRE-K STEAM CLASS
Ms. Darcie Rankin brought a ton of creative supplies to the classroom for students to build with. 4-29-2024. The class split into groups at two tables facilitated by Ms. Rankin and the room teachers. All the students were completely engaged.
WALKING WEDNESDAYS EVERY WEEK IN MAY
In May we hold Walking Wednesdays every week. We do this because the weather is typically pleasant in May. With the arrival of spring and warmer weather, students and staff are generally more willing to walk to school. Bikers are welcome too as long as there is adequate separation between walkers and bikers. It is best if bikers ride independently or with a family member to school. All walkers and bikers on Walking Wednesdays can collect a pencil and sticker before they enter school.
Remember bikers who record 10 rides in or around St. Albans by September 1st can submit a form to the St. Albans Free Library to be eligible for a drawing of some bicycle-related prizes. Rides to school count. Forms are in the School lobby or can printed out from this link.
