“It is our vision as Daughters of Charity schools that our students become people of service who see the face of God in everyone, committed to living their Vincentian Catholic values.”
March brings significant updates for our Mother of Sorrows School community. We are delighted to announce that the long-awaited technology upgrades will be delivered on Monday, March 17th. This delivery includes interactive boards for preschool through second grade, as well as 3D printers and document cameras for every classroom. We are enthusiastic about the positive impact these enhancements will have on our students' learning experience as we enter the final trimester of the school year. Additionally, you may notice that our lunch pavilion appears empty today; this is because we will also be receiving new lunch tables on Monday and Tuesday. These improvements are anticipated to greatly enhance our students' dining experience and the overall learning environment.
As we advance through our Lenten journey this year, we are reminded of the importance of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. We extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported our CEF fundraising efforts and look forward to sharing the total amount raised shortly. A special acknowledgment goes to our MOS 5K Team, led by Mr. Garcia and Coach Brandon; they will proudly represent our school at this Saturday's event. We also appreciate the parents who have made it possible for students to participate, even when it requires an early start on a Saturday morning. We appreciate your continued support!
Please ensure you review the yearly calendar linked below, as there have been some updates to the upcoming events in May. Father Alberto has requested a change to the Community Night schedule due to Confirmations at the Parish occurring on the same day, which may result in limited parking. Additionally, we have included the date for our Annual Parent Luncheon. We appreciate your careful attention to the updated May dates. Thank you.
God Bless,

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ-
Reckless driving is a significant concern in our area, and we seek your assistance in raising awareness about this important safety issue. It becomes challenging to address this problem when some individuals in our carline exhibit reckless behavior. We have observed instances of illegal U-turns being made on Main Street, which endangers both drivers and pedestrians, as well as illegal U-turns on 87th Place, which disrupts the flow of the carline.
We must collaborate as a community to ensure the safety of everyone. We kindly request that you share this message with anyone responsible for picking up your child. It is vital that we collectively assume responsibility and dedicate ourselves to fostering a safer environment for our children. The convenience of saving one or two minutes does not outweigh the potential risks to yourself and others.
As always, there is anything we can assist you with please feel free to reach out to your admin team Mrs. Rincon-Ponce (VP) a.ponce@motherofsorrowsla.org and Mrs. Arvizu-Sotelo (Principal) k.arvizu@motherofsorrowsla.org.
