The Wildcat Week Ahead
2/3 - 2/7
Dear Wildcat Families,
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the kind words and support we've received over the past two weeks. My husband Josh, our kids Ryan, Julia, and Keagan, and our cat Lulu, who we found just five days after the fire, are deeply thankful to you all. The little messages from the staff and the wonderful morning note from the 1st graders have truly lifted my spirits. I am thrilled to share that I will be returning to school on Tuesday, and I can't wait to see everyone!
I would also like to give a HUGE shoutout to our incredible staff for their unwavering support, love, and dedication to our students. I know you all appreciate how special our team is, but I want to shout it from the mountaintops! They have worked tirelessly to ensure that the last two weeks were as smooth and routine as possible for our kids. If you see any of our staff members, please take a moment to thank them for their hard work.
I will need a few days to get back into the swing of things, but please feel free to reach out if there's anything I can assist you with. I've updated the events coming up below, we hope our K-3 families join us for a fun and interactive literacy night on the 19th! I've updated the family calendar with all the important details, including the upcoming 6th-grade school visits. You can view it here: Family Calendar.
Warm regards,
Mrs. H

Heading to Bolton for Ski and Ride Days? Be Sure to Read This
Welcome to the ski and ride program for the 2025 season. If you are on this email you have signed up your child or are helping chaperone this year. Please read through as there is some important information and tasks to be completed before we get to the mountain. As you know we have 4 ski dates this year, Feb 12, March 5, 12 and 19. If your child is taking the bus we will be leaving the Grand Isle School at approximately 7:45 am on those dates, so please make sure your child gets to school on time to get on the bus. The bus will leave Bolton around 1:15 pm and will be back at school for your child's regular dismissal. If you are driving separately to the mountain please try and arrive by or before 9 am. The lift tickets are again 4 hour tickets, so once scanned at the lift you have 4 hours to ski. I will be handing out the lift tickets on the first day and they will stay in your child's possession for the remainder of the ski program so please make sure they bring them to each ski day. These passes can also be brought to Bolton on a single 5th day of your choosing for a free family ski day at any point after Feb 12. Your child's pass can get you up to 3 additional lift tickets by bringing it to ticket sales. This is a 4 hour lift ticket as well and only for immediate family members (siblings, parents, grandparents). It also gives these additional family members 30% off rental gear if they need it that day. It can be used on any day of the week at Bolton excluding holidays.
For each date I will be assigning chaperone groups and will have that information posted once we get to Bolton. I am not yet sure where Bolton will have us meeting to leave all of our belongings, but once they let me know I will send out another email with that information. If your child or you as a chaperone will not be able to attend on a certain date, please email me asap so I can adjust any groups as needed.
This year Bolton has requested all participants and chaperones fill out their enrollment form here and sign the waiver. Please make sure you fill out a separate response for each kid and chaperone.
The enrollment form will ask about needing a lift ticket and rental information. It will also ask about a buffet and lessons which you will answer NO to, as neither of these things are available during our time slot. This form needs to be filled out for each child participant and chaperones in order for their tickets to be generated for the program.
Additionally, Bolton has requested that both these videos be watched by all participants.
I know this is a lot of information and if you have any questions please reach out to me at any time.
Thanks,
Lindsay Lundquist

As of right now, it looks like the 100th day of school will be February 4th. We will keep you posted of any activities that are planned for the day.
We are excited to bring literacy night to GIS on February 19th from 5-6 PM. It will be geared toward families with kiddos in grades K-3 and will focus on what you can do to support reading, understanding tapping out sounds, and give you a general overview of what literacy looks like in GISU.
Please let us know if you'll be joining us by RSVPing to the event below!
K-3 Literacy Night
Come join us for an interactive literacy night designed to support families and students. You will learn the basics of tapping out words (seeing it in real time through demonstration), get a clearer view of how the brain learns to read, and more!
