L.H. Rather Board Report: May

Congratulations to Chloe Taylor, who was voted our student of the month! Chloe Taylor is an 8th grader and an amazing young lady, who is always willing to offer assistance to anyone. It never fails to find Chloe helping pick up a classroom, help clean the stadium, or just asking if you need anything. She excels in her character.

Ms. Hunter took the lead and applied for a grant with the Education Foundation to provide an incredible experience for our students. This opportunity opened the door for our students to not only focus on reading, but they were able to develop a presentation and begin dialogue with their peers and parents on their books! We our so proud of our inaugural readers, and we were happy to reward them with a trip to Grayson County College to explore the campus and celebrate for lunch with some bowling and pizza at Hey Day!

On May 2nd, the L.H. Rather Chapter of NJHS inducted the largest group of students since Mrs. Durante became sponsor! I am so proud of our students for this achievement.

The Rather PTO has been quiet for quite sometime, but this year, they made a comeback with some amazing parents who wanted to revive the PTO! With the leadership of Heather Gil, PTO was able to deliver each of our teachers a $50 gift card on Friday to finalize Teacher Appreciation Week! To say the gift was unexpected was an understatement, but it was definitely well deserved!
