NOTES FROM THE OFFICE
Mark your calendars:
The state testing window will be April 7-May 2. If you know your child has planned absences during that time, please notify Mrs. Arnos as soon as possible. Thank you!
Inclement Weather:
With inclement weather quickly approaching us please know that delays and closings will be posted on our website. For your convenience please follow this LINK!
Medical Forms:
If your student has Vanderbilt forms or other medical forms that need to be completed for evaluations, please submit those forms to the guidance office. This helps ensure that your information is kept private and is submitted in a timely manner. Thank you for your help and cooperation.
Tuesday/Thursday Help Sessions:
If your student has missed any assignments during the week, their teacher will hand them a "green slip" on Friday that shows which assignments still need to be turned in. The student will also automatically be scheduled for a help session after school the following week to finish the work. Parents will receive an email notification.
The student can either complete the work prior to the help session date, or attend the session and get help from a teacher. Better learning and higher grades begin with work completion, and we want to help.
PROGRESSBOOK:
If you want to gain more from ProgressBook and use ProgressBook to stay on top of your kids homework and assignments CHECK THIS OUT! It is a quick video on how to set up notifications for missed work and low grades.

LATIN CLUB!
Are you a TMS student interested in studying Latin on Tuesdays after school from 2:50 to 3:50?
Some benefits to studying Latin:
Knowledge of the Romance languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian)
Expanded English vocabulary; especially in the areas of law, sciences, and medical fields
Improved English skills
A study found that children who learned Latin had higher reading scores and improved math problem-solving skills.
Latin has a highly organized grammar that can help your child develop a systematic thinking approach.
Ten class sessions will be held. On Tuesdays from February 4th through April 29th, students at TMS will attend classes. Sessions will begin at 2:50 and end at 3:50. If the student walks home from TMS, let us know they have your permission on the application. Otherwise, parents must provide students with transportation home and be on time. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior by a student can result in immediate dismissal from the program.
The cost for this program is $10.
Snacks will be provided.
LET'S TALK ABOUT ATTENDANCE
Dear TMS Families,
It is the time of year where we are seeing a lot of absences. Some of these can't be avoided due to illnesses that seem to surface during the winter months. We wanted to reach out with some information about the importance of student attendance and how it can have an impact on your child's school performance now and in the future. Please review the fact link and graphic below. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's attendance or an attendance letter you may have recently received, please reach out to your child's counselor, school office, or school administration.
LOST AND FOUND
Please check out the lost and found! We have lots of items: jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, shirts, shoes, etc. that are looking to be found. We will be donating all items February 7th.
