From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Saturday Night was a Spectacular night! Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, bid on items or purchased raffle tickets. Once we pay out all the expenses we will have our final total to share. A huge thank you to our Co-Chairs of the event, Erika Tonne and Ahna Nichols. Along with the committee, they created a fantastic night for all those in attendance. The decorations, auction items, food, and company were all top notch. Can’t wait until next year.
First Trimester report cards were sent home today. Please make sure you review the report card and sign and return the envelope. You may keep your child(ren)’s report card for your records. Access to the online report card will go live at midnight tonight. If your child does not receive a copy of their report card, it means you have some sort of outstanding balance. Please contact Sam Johnnston at sjohnston@stjohnsdrschool.org with any questions. I will be meeting with any student (grades 4-8) that received a failing grade on their report card the week we return from break. If you have any questions about the report card, please reach out to the teacher of record after Thanksgiving Break.
This is a reminder that school will be closed Monday November 25-29th. Our students earned Monday off as an incentive for our walk-a-thon, Tuesday is a conference release day, and Wednesday-Friday is our Thanksgiving Break. I hope everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing week spent with family and friends. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, December 2nd for the final three weeks of the calendar year.

Thank You For A Spectacular Evening!
Last Saturday night’s event was nothing short of amazing, and we couldn’t have done it without YOU. Your energy, generosity, and support made this year’s Spectacular truly unforgettable.
In the spirit of the evening’s celebration, we wanted to share something very special. This year, the naming of the gym was not auctioned off. Instead, we are honored to dedicate it to the Owen’s family to name in memory of Jodi Owens, our PTO President who lost her battle to cancer this year. She was also an invaluable part of the Spectacular committee. Jodi’s passion, dedication, and heart made a lasting impact on our community, and this is our way of ensuring her legacy lives on in a place that embodies energy, connection, and growth.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating her spirit and supporting the cause she loved so much.

Grades 4-5 Christmas Concert December 17
It is that time of year that we are preparing for our annual Christmas concert. I want to inform you about a few things before we go on Thanksgiving break. The concert will take place at St. John the Baptist church on Tuesday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m. All are invited. The doors will open at 6:30 and we ask that students sit with their families before the concert begins.
As for concert attire, students should dress their best. Students may wear anything that relates to the Christmas season, but Christmas clothing is optional. We ask that the students do not wear athletic pants or jeans. For their safety, girls should not wear heeled shoes. Students may also wear Christmas hats, but we ask that the hats do not block the view of other students' faces.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

Santa Shop: December 2 - 4
A Santa Shop flier was sent home in your child's Blue Jay Folder this week along with an envelope with gift ideas/budget on it. If your child is planning to purchase any gifts, please be sure to send in the envelope with payment on the day your child is scheduled to shop.
Santa Shop is a Christmas shop at school where the students can purchase gifts for their families. There are a wide variety of gifts to choose from that range in price from $1.00-$15.00. The gifts are also wrapped so that the students can bring home surprises! This is one of the best parts of Santa Shop. Students in preschool 4s – 8 th grade will have the opportunity to visit the shop on
Monday (12/2) – Wednesday (12/4). Each homeroom will be assigned a specific day
and time to visit. Younger grades will have parent volunteers or 8th grade buddies
help them find the perfect gifts.
Volunteer:
We will need helpers to set up the shop on Monday (11/25), the
first day of Thanksgiving Break. Volunteers will also be needed to wrap or help
students in the shop on Monday (12/2), Tuesday (12/3) and Wednesday (12/4 morning
only). You will be able to volunteer the whole day or part of the day.
Donations:
We need wrapping items like tissue paper and gently used or new gift bags! If you have
any gift items to donate please send to Laura Heidorn in the Main Office. Thank you!
Thank you!
