🏫 A Note from your Administration 🏫
Hello, Husmann Parents & Guardians!
We have the BEST Parent-Teacher Organization in our district! The wonderful set up in the lounge last week during Teacher Appreciation Week was amazing! Staff LOVED being spoiled each day! Each one of us felt truly appreciated and cannot thank our HPTO enough for the special week.
Our annual Open House is this Thursday night, from 6-7:30pm! Our Cougars have worked so hard this year, and this is a time for their wonderful work and projects to be on display for your viewing! We hope you can make it, and feel free to drop in anytime within that window of time!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone Thursday night!
Your Partners in Education,
Mr. Sromek, Principal & Ms. Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal
💛💜Volunteers, Mystery Readers, Etc...💜💛
Volunteers assist our schools in a variety of ways and positively impact the educational experience of our students. For the health and safety of our staff and students, volunteers are required to complete a brief online application each school year. The application process includes a background check conducted by Raptor. Volunteer Application
👩🏻⚕️ REMINDER FROM THE NURSE 👩🏻⚕️
Dear Parents,
School will soon be over for the 2024-2025 year. Please make arrangements to pick up any medications and supplies that may be in the health office prior to 10:30am on June 2, 2025. Any medication or supplies that are left in the health office after that time will be discarded. Medications must be picked up by an adult. Students are not allowed to bring them home. Please call if I can be of any assistance. I have included a blank Medication Authorization Form for the coming school year for your convenience. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
Enjoy your summer!

Calling All Crystal Lake students in 3rd - 5th Grade! Do your kids dream of riding in a police car to school? Want their artwork featured on a t-shirt? If you answered yes, keep reading! National Night Out is coming up on Thursday, August 7th, and the Crystal Lake Police Department is hosting another t-shirt design contest. 🚀 5th Grade Fly Up Day 🚀
On Friday, May 30, 2025 all 5th graders will have an opportunity to visit D47 middle schools for the district’s annual 5th Grade Fly Up Day event. Students will take a morning field trip by bus to their designated middle school where they will be given a student-led tour of the school, meet teachers and administrators, and learn about academics and extracurricular activities, as well as expectations for success.
✅ 6th grade course placement ✅
5th grade teachers and school administrators have spent the last few weeks carefully reviewing their students' needs for 6th grade. Beyond Encores of Art, Family and Consumer Science, Music, Spanish, STEM, PE/Health, plus Band per student choice, academic courses include Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Science. For a small percentage of students, enrollment in Extended Curriculum (EC) classes for Language Arts and Math has been considered. If students are eligible for EC classes, a letter will be sent home on May 19th. Full student schedules are available in August prior to the start of school.
6th Grade Parent Panel & Dual Language Information
Thank you to all the families who attended the 6th grade parent panels on Thursday, April 24. For those who weren't able to attend, there is a Transition to 6th Grade FAQ’s page on the website.
