Since 1967, International Literacy Day has been celebrated around the world as a reminder that literacy holds the key to creating a more literate and peaceful society. International Literacy Day upholds the idea that literacy is a fundamental right, and it opens the door for greater success.
Midland ISD will celebrate International Literacy Day each day during the week of September 9-13 by inviting students to complete literacy activities and to participate in book tower challenges. We can't wait to see your pictures on social media as we celebrate literacy!

School Safety Message from Mr. Bryant
All students are required to wear their IDs at all times while on campus. This is a crucial measure to ensure the safety and security of everyone by clearly identifying who belongs on our campus.
If a student forgets their ID at home, they must promptly fill out the temporary ID request form. Temporary IDs will be delivered directly to their classroom. Please note that there is a $1.00 charge for not having an ID. Please take a moment to stress to your child the importance of wearing their IDs. It is not just a school policy; itβs a key part of maintaining a secure environment for everyone.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Chris Bryant, Associate Principal of Maintenance and Operations
Minga Updates
We're seeing great progress in reducing tardies! In Week 1, we had 2,282 tardies, but this week, we brought that number down to 973. That's a reduction of 1,309βa huge step forward. Thank you all for your efforts in talking to your students about getting to class on time!
Football Game Success: We also had a great experience using Minga at the football game. The system helped us move lines faster than ever, and we identified 20 students who were either no longer enrolled or from other schools, keeping them from entering the game. Additionally, we knew exactly which 209 students attended, greatly enhancing our ability to ensure their safety and accountability.
Letβs keep up the good work!
CCMR Updates
Please see the CCMR update from Mrs. Wimberley each week. This section will keep you educated on what it means for your child to be college, career, or military ready!
