Math Team - Conference Champions!
Congratulations to the Math Team! This is the 2nd year in a row they have been Conference Champions! Great job Huskies!
Winter Orchestra and Band Concerts Ticketing Information
Looking to attend the Orchestra or Band Winter Concerts? You can purchase tickets ahead of time! The Orchestra Winter Concert is being held on Monday, February 27th at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium. The Band Winter Concert is being held on Thursday, March 2nd at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium. Tickets will be available for online purchase approximately 1 week before the concert.

Project Prom
Project Prom is once again providing free prom dresses to girls in the Twin Cities this spring! This year’s event will have more than 2,000 dresses of all colors, sizes and styles for girls to choose from. There will be volunteers to help the girls “shop”, if they’d like. And take the dress they chose home - completely free. The program is open to any girl who would benefit from a free prom dress. (There’s no qualification required.)
When: March 25, 26, 31 & April 1 & 2
Where: An empty store at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes (The girls will truly feel like they have a traditional prom dress shopping experience!)
Who: Any young woman who’s attending prom is welcome! This is also an LGBTQ+ friendly event.
Please help us spread the word about this great opportunity to your students and have them sign up to attend at www.projectprom.us. Everyone must register in order to attend the event.

Tri 3 Parking Permits
Trimester 3 parking permits will go on sale Wednesday, February 22nd for Seniors, Thursday, February 23rd for Juniors and Friday, February 24th for Sophomores. Please access School Pay to purchase a permit. The window to purchase permits will open at 7:00 AM on each day. Trimester 3 permit distribution will be on March 6th and 7th in the cafeteria during lunch time. For questions you can contact Emily Fonder at emily.fonder@ahschools.us.

2023 Graduation Information
Graduation for the Class of 2023 will be held at Maturi Pavilion on Sunday, June 4th at 7:00 PM. Please review the Andover HS Graduation document for more details and information.

Community Scholarship Application
The Community Scholarship online application is open February 13 – March 3, 2023. A wide range of scholarships are available to students, and every senior is encouraged to apply. The link is now open and can be accessed here. Students must log into their Anoka-Hennepin Google account to complete.

Accepting Scholarship Donations
The Andover High School Community Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to students through
generous donations from local businesses, organizations, foundations, and memorials. Our goal
is to continue to support our students pursuing higher education by raising money for the Class
of 2023.

with creating a scholarship.
PSEO Application Process Open
The application process is open for students to apply to PSEO programs of their choice. You will find more information and links to specific programs on our PSEO website. Students will need to submit the Notice of Student Registration Form, transcripts and any other documents the college requires. Please note, some colleges have implemented changes in the way they would like to receive these documents and are asking students to submit the forms electronically. Please refer to the college's website as you work through the application process. Once students complete all steps in the application process, they will work with the college to get registered/enrolled. The final step is to submit a copy of their PSEO schedule to their high school counselor and adjust their high school registration.

Career Center News
Attention Seniors: National Decision Day!
May 1 is considered National Decision Day. We would like to spend some time celebrating you all, no matter your plans for life after graduation. In planning for that day, I would like each student to fill out this Google Form. Students are encouraged to wear something celebrating their path and to stop by the Photo Area at lunch.
Scholarship Season is Heating Up!
Andover Community Scholarship Application was emailed to students on February 13. Details of that event can be found here and in that email. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
Anoka County Kennel Club - this scholarship is for students interested in studying something in the Animal Sciences field. Hard copies are available in the Career Center with more details. Due May 1.

The Andover Traveling Boys Basketball Association is sponsoring (2) $500.00 college scholarships for qualifying 2023 Andover High School graduates. Qualifications are as follows:
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Minimum participation in ATBB program of (3) three years
250 minimum word essay submitted to ATBB

Mortenson is hosting a Career Day Visit on March 1st in conjunction with Wallin! Feel free to share with your teachers or students who might be interested. The focus is on seniors interested in Construction or Construction Management. Students can sign up on their own if they'd like. News from the Youth Services Coordinator
Upcoming Leo Club Sustainability Projects:
Recycling Presentations - Fifty percent of the recycling bins around the school are contaminated with items like chip bags, half full drinks, and candy wrappers. In an effort to recycle more, the Leos created a video to show the student body what can, and can not be placed in recycling bins. This video was shown to all advisory classes to help educate the student body on proper recycling.
Lunch Booth Activities - To help make fellow students more aware of what can and can’t be recycled, the Leos will be hosting three days of educational lunch booth activities with fun games and prizes.

- April 5th - Recycling Trivia
Sustainability Week - From March 3rd - March 9th the Leos will be sponsoring a week filled with sustainability themed days. Prizes will be given to students who participate!
- Monday 3/6 - Burn less fossil fuel - Carpool to School Day
- Tuesday 3/7 - Reduce Plastics - Bring your Reusable Water Bottle to School Day
- Wednesday 3/8 - Create Awareness - Wear Green to School Day
- Thursday 3/9 - Waste Less Food - Food Drive
Thrift Shop - In an effort to address the environmental ramifications of “fast fashion” the Leos are going to host a thrift shop at school during lunch, and after school on April 13th. If your student has very gently used clothing that could use a good home, consider donating! Items will be collected in the main foyer April 3rd - April 7th.
Tree Planting - The Andover Leos are partnering with the non-profit, Treeplenish, and plan to plant enough trees in the city of Andover to offset our school’s carbon emissions from last year. With generous donations from the Andover Lions and the Andover Football Association, they will be aiming to plant 250 FREE trees throughout Andover! The tree planting day is set for April 29th, watch for more information to come.
Elementary School Book reading - To help educate younger children about the importance of taking care of our planet, on April 21st the Leos will be reading to students at Andover Elementary.
