New traffic pattern
On March 31, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) changed the north service road from the East Fork Bridge to Watha Drive from two-way to one-way (westbound). Motorists will no longer be able to turn left onto the service road from Watha Drive to access the East Fork Road bridge.
TxDOT has placed the appropriate signage in this area and Sunnyvale Police Department will be monitoring this area over the next week, until motorists are familiar with the change.
Road maintenance update
As part of the street maintenance project, work on Long Creek Road, from Clay Road to Larkin Road has begun. Work in this area is expected over the next five weeks.
Additionally, work on Gloria Road will begin today, April 1, and will continue through approximately the next 10 days.

Burn ban remains in effect
In March 2022, Fire Chief Doug Kendrick halted the issuance of burn permits until further notice due to the extremely dry conditions that Sunnyvale is experiencing. As of April 1, 2022, a burn ban remains in effect.
Sunnyvale Fire/Rescue Department does not recommend recreational burning until an improvement in weather conditions is seen. Please take caution with fire pits to avoid blowing embers and refrain from leaving fire pits unattended.
