MASKS
On Monday, 3/14, PUSD had a change in the mask policy. Per the California Department of Health, masking changed from required to strongly recommended. We want to thank you for helping us to maintain a safe and respectful environment on campus knowing that students and staff members will make different choices in wearing masks. Please let us know if you have any questions or need any support.

ARTS UPDATES
MADRIGALS AUDITIONS - APRIL 5
Do you like to sing? Then this announcement is for you! The choir program will be holding auditions for Madrigals for the 2022-23 school year on Tuesday April 5 at 2:30 pm. If interested, please come pick up music from the choir room to learn for the audition. Madrigals will be available in the choir room at lunch starting March 29 to help students learn the piece. We hope to see you there.
Improv Shows - April 7 and May 5
The RB Improv Team invite you to attend their comedy shows on April 7 and May 5 at 7:00 pm in the RBHS PAC. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased at the door, cash only. All audience members will be required to wear a mask while inside the theatre. Thank you for supporting the students by attending the shows!

Our Dance tryouts schedule is as follows:
TDF - May 9 - 10 at 7:00 - 9:00 pm
JV - May 11 at 6:30 - 9:00 pm
Intermediate - May 9 at 7:30 - 9:00 pm
HipHop and Bboy - May 12 at 7:30 - 9:00 pm

CHOIR CONCERT - MAY 18 - 19
Our award winning choir program will present “A Night of Pops Music” on May 18 and 19 at 7:00 pm in the PAC. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door with cash, check, or credit card. The choir will perform Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey, Hey Jude by the Beatles, Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake, and much, much more. Please come and show your support for these talented students!

Secondary History Social Science Textbook Adoption
PUSD secondary schools are currently going through a pilot process for adopting a new History Social Studies (HSS) curriculum for our middle schools and high school United States History Courses. Please visit our Secondary History Social Science Adoptions page for more information and directions on how to provide feedback.
High School Literature Adoption Committee
In an effort to continue to provide a rigorous and culturally responsive approach to literature, PUSD is creating a committee to review and approve supplemental literature titles for use in secondary English classes. The committee will include representative parents, students and staff. Working as a collaborative body, the group will be tasked with reading and reviewing books and proposals for adoption. “WHAT I WISH MY PARENTS KNEW” - APRIL 19 AT WESTVIEW
Please save the date and plan to join parents from around PUSD for “What I Wish My Parents Knew” on April 19 from 6:30 pm - 8:45 pm in the Westview High School Performing Arts Center. A Series of interactive workshops will be offered, two of which parents will select to attend, on topics identified by students as their greatest challenges today. Facilitators will include principals from seven PUSD secondary schools and various representative from our community. This program has been presented to more than 6000 parents since we began there in 2012. More information will be on our website in April.

STUDENT SERVICES
We have a helpful resource I can offer parents who may have a teen struggling with vaping and nicotine addiction. If you would like to email me I can connect you with resources and a self-guided cessation program that can be done in the privacy of your own home. COUNSELING NEWS
Happy spring from the RBHS Counseling Department! In February, counselors visited all second period classrooms to talk to students about the course selection process and gave recommendations for making a map of their upcoming year’s courses. In March, the window to enter courses into Synergy opened. Students were given time in their second period classes to enter their desired course lists into Synergy. By now, all students should have input those courses so that we can start building the master schedule for the 2022 - 23 school year based on those selections.
Information about the STATE SEAL OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT went out to our juniors and seniors. The deadline to apply is April 22. We also pushed out information for the STATE SEAL OF BILITERACY. Seniors who have taken up to level 7-8 of their world language may be eligible to apply. The deadline is April 1.
Applications for students to apply to be a Peer Counselor will be available on April 1 on www.rbhs.org. Click on Academics, and then Peer Counseling to find the application or contact Mrs. Changnon mchangnon@powayusd.com or Coach Jamal if questions jafelton@powayusd.com.
Counselors will be checking in with students who have earned Fs in any required coursework to discuss summer school. For more information on Summer School course offerings, please see our Alternative Programs website. For any questions about summer school, please invite students to speak to their counselor.

The window to sign up for AP testing has closed. Students will begin their AP tests in May. The deadline to cancel an AP Exam and receive a partial refund is April 29. Please email cancel@aptsusa.com to request a refund.
This has been a year of growth for many of our students. We continue to refer our students who are struggling emotionally to outside therapists, on a daily basis. If you have a concern about your student’s mental health, please contact their counselor. Having a trusted adult on campus for our students has never been more crucial. Our role as a counselor is to support your student with their academic, personal/social, and college and career goals.SENIOR PARENTS

Student Services is looking for donations of gently used shorts, sweats, sweatshirts/jackets, pants and tee-shirts to help students in need on campus. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
We are very grateful and extend our sincere thanks to all the members/parents who recently made big donations to the RBHS FOL. RBHS library is one of the best in PUSD largely due to your support and donations. For donations of $500.00 or more, your name will be engraved on the donor plaque displayed in our library.
While we continue to meet monthly on Zoom, we sincerely request parents to join the FOL team and attend our meetings to get to know us better. We also encourage students to join the FOL student board. Students can earn community service hours by participating in FOL activities.
