Dear DPM Families,
Next week our 5th graders will embark on their Adventure Days field trips to Boundless Adventures in Bristol, Wisconsin. They will spend a day exploring together on the ropes courses up in the trees, work on being adaptable when faced with a challenge, build confidence by trying something new, communicate positively to support peers, and practice empathy for others around them. Last year we saw many acts of bravery and our students left with wonderful shared memories as a class. We cannot wait for our newest Braves to create unforgettable middle school memories of their own!
A special thank you to The Spirit of 67 for making this amazing opportunity happen again this year for our DPM students!

*REPEAT* New Main Entrance Security Kiosks
Part of keeping students safe is knowing who is in the building at all times. Our new visitor management system empowers schools to make reliable decisions about whether to allow visitors into their schools.
Upon check–in, a visitor simply takes a photo of their US state issued driver's license or ID card. The visitor's full name and date of birth are extracted and checked against all state and local US sex offender registries and various criminal databases for matching records. Within seconds, the access system depending on the results – allows the front desk personnel to either print a badge or review a potential match.
The current access control system has been in place for the past 18 months and recent upgrades allow schools to offer new features such as student sign out and late student sign in capabilities.
It is required for all visitors to show a current government issued identification and enter their information into Kiosk so staff can verify identity and grant access to students.
District 67 News
Curriculum Coordinating Committee Parent/Guardian Representative Needed
Dear District 67 Parents and Guardians:
My name is Vail Kieser, and I’m thrilled to be the Director of Teaching and Learning in Lake Forest District 67. Parents and guardians bring invaluable perspectives to our District 67 work. One of the ways we seek parent and guardian involvement is through the Curriculum Coordinating Committee (CCC). It is composed of teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians, bringing to bear multiple perspectives on the work we do for our students.
Considering plans for curriculum review/evaluation
Receiving input regarding curriculum related matters
Serving in an advisory capacity to the administration and Board of Education
The District is seeking to fill a parent/guardian vacancy for a three-year CCC term. Appointments to the committee will be based upon interest and qualifications.
Those interested in serving on the CCC should apply using this application form below.
Qualifications include the ability to analyze and discuss curricular issues, to participate in collective decision-making, and to communicate effectively. Applications are due by 8:00 am on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Meetings will be held monthly with the first meeting on Monday, October 7, at 4:00 pm. Meetings may be held in person or virtually, depending on the time and purpose.
Applicants will be informed of membership by Friday, September 27, 2024. Thank you for considering this opportunity!
