MR. FOUSHEE'S ADVENTURE CLUB NEWS - MAY 16th, 2021
Let the Adventure Club Fun Begin!!
We started our month of Fun last week and we continue it this week with a variety of awesome activities! This week students created Cardboard Spinner Fidgets and Paper Gliders. They also made Brown Bag Kites, and learned how to paint with string! The students also watched the “Choose Your Character” mock Tik-Tok video they helped create during our Technology month. Although modeled after a real Tik-Tok (and better than them too), this video will never get the chance to go viral. Check it out in the link above this week's Adventure Club pictures!

ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLAND AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
May marks the celebration of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month which will be celebrated in various ways throughout the month of May 2021. Like most commemorative months, Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month originated with Congress in 1977 to celebrate this great group of Americans who have contributed so much to the United States. The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first people of Japanese descent to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869. However, we must not forget that the majority of the workers who laid the tracks for the railroad were Chinese immigrants.
Please remember to help celebrate these wonderful cultures by recognizing the history, culture and achievements of all Asian Americans in the United States. You can also watch some of the documentaries that will be showing throughout the month on various television and cable stations.
Become curious about the cultures and the history as you greet students, parents and staff who identify as Asian Pacific Islander South Asian Americans (APISAA)
