4K Enrollment for 2025-2026 Opens January 27
Enrollment for the West Bend School District’s 4K program for the 2025-2026 school year opens on Monday, January 27. The enrollment is completed online at west-bend.k12.wi.us. Forms and other information can be completed prior to January 27 and then submitted on that day. Learn more about the 4K program on the website.
Students currently enrolled in the 4K program this school year are automatically enrolled for WBSD kindergarten for 2025-2026. If a student is not enrolled in the WBSD’s 4K, they may be enrolled for kindergarten beginning January 27. Enrollment is completed online.
Nature-Based 4K Program Moving to New Location
With 4K enrollment opening soon, there is an important update to the programming. Beginning this fall, the West Bend School District will use its facilities and relocate the nature-based program that is now at Riveredge Nature Center to the WBSD Outdoor Science Education Center. This building and surrounding land is located across the street from the high schools building, behind the baseball fields on the southeast corner of River and Decorah Roads.
Our community-based partner, Kettle Moraine YMCA, will continue to operate the program. Students will attend preschool at Holy Trinity in Newburg two days a week and the WBSD Outdoor Science Education Center two days a week. We are happy to use our facilities for this important part of our preschool programming. The other nature-based 4K program, also run by the YMCA and currently at Trinity Lutheran and Camp Silver Brook in West Bend, will continue next year unchanged.

Staff Examines Programming on Work Day
During the professional development and work day on January 3 for WBSD staff, groups of teachers and administrators joined to complete an important exercise in vision development and program review. The teachers brainstormed program elements and shared their findings with the whole group.
First-Ever 4K Grads Take Starring Role
As a way to promote the amazing 4K program of the West Bend School District, recently the district’s Facebook and Instagram accounts feature memories of 4K from a few of the students in the first-ever 4K class of the West Bend School District. These students, members of the “Class of 2017,” are now in seventh grade at Badger Middle School. Their memories were of outdoor activities, making friends, and The Gingerbread Man story. Thanks to Caleb, Josie, Lydia, Santiago, and Wyatt for sharing their memories of 4K.
Enrollment for 4K opens on January 27. Please send this newsletter to anyone you know who may be interested in enrollment.
