Did you know...
- You are given advantages when you join JROTC, such as more possibility to be accepted in colleges, your awards are usually visible on your resume and if you choose to join the military you can get promoted faster!!!
- You can build leadership skills, solve problems more effectively, step out of your comfort zone while trying your best, and when you are uncomfortable people will have your back!
- The cadets that you are in the program with end up being like a family to you, everyone is trying to help each other, and have seen them at their worst, and best. And the best part is that they will always support you!
- You can participate in competitions, parades, field trips, join teams, and staff, and leadership within the program! We have Color Guard, Drill Team, Raider Team, Academics team, and Archery Team! We also go on the ruck marches, go view military places for field trips, and work together and have fun throughout all of it!
- In all, the program helps you to better yourself, and will leave the program with a new found family, and new found skills that will help you beyond high school!!!
If you still want to join JROTC, let your counselor know ASAP.

General Reminders
Parking at Western State Hospital
We have been informed by Western State Hospital that cars from SHS have been parking in the Western State Parking Lot. Please make sure that students use the SHS parking lots only. Parking passes for SHS are free this year and if students do not display these in their windows, we can not contact them when found by Western State. The hospital has informed us that they will tow cars if they do not have the correct parking passes.
Start Time-7:35 AM
A reminder that school starts at 7:35 AM. Its expected that students are in class ready to learn at 7:35 AM. Students who arrive late to the school building, need to check in to the Attendance Office and get a Tardy Slip.
Attendance Reminder
Parents/Guardians:
If students need to leave early during the school day for an appointment. Please call the Attendance Line in the morning with the time you want your student to leave.
Students will receive an Early Dismissal slip to their classroom and they will meet you @ Attendance Office at the time specified. This will help students be ready to go when you arrive.
Students MUST sign out with the Attendance Office when they leave the building early.
Attendance Line: 253 983-2303
Student ID/ASB Cards
All students now have a School ID card. Students are required to have these on them during the school day. Any student who enters the building after the start of the school day is REQUIRED to show their Student ID/ASB Card when entering the building and must check in with the Attendance Office. This includes all Running Start Students who come onto campus. A picture of the Current Student ID Card on the student's phone is acceptable. This helps make sure we know who is on campus.

We would also like to cover the cost for any Senior who qualifies for the lunch program if possible. Any leftover funds will also go toward the Senior Sunset celebration.
