Yesterday (February 19, 2025) was School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Minnesota! School bus drivers play a crucial role in our school system and are important figures in our students’ lives, as they are often the person they see before their school day begins and after it ends!

We are so thankful to our ISD #13 bus drivers for getting our students to and from school safely every day! Make sure you say thank you to your bus drivers!

On their trip, they visited University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, University of Wisconsin - Madison, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Senn School of Arts, Navy Pier, the Bean, Millenium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum, and were able to watch different shows and musicals while there!

Such a fantastic experience for our high school music and art students!

Tomorrow night (Friday, February 21st), the Hylander Girls and Boys Varsity basketball teams are hosting a double-header against the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles!

• Girls Varsity Game starts at 5:00 p.m.
• Boys Varsity Game starts at 7:00 p.m.

Home games are free for all CHPS students and staff. Tickets for adults are $6 and non-CHPS student tickets are $6.

Columbia Academy Theater presents "Annie Jr."! Our middle school theater students invite you to the streets of 1930s New York City to join Annie and her friends on this musical journey to finding Annie's family!

All shows will take place in the CHHS Performing Arts Center (PAC):

• Friday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m.
• Sunday, March 16th at 2:00 p.m.

CHPS is hosting a Well Child Immunization Clinic on March 13th from 2:30-6:30 p.m. in the Family Center (1440 49th Ave. NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421). Enter Door #2.

Well child visits and immunizations will be offered at this clinic by appointment only. You will receive a phone call the week of the clinic to notify you of your appointment time. These visits will be free of charge for our families.

• All Well Child Vaccinations
• Influenza (flu)
• COVID-19

Sports Physical for all Athletics
Every athlete participating in school-year sports must have a physical on file with the Activities Office. Student Athletes cannot register for the upcoming season without a sports physical on file. Sports physicals are valid for three years. 24-25 Sports Physical Form

Are you interesting in starting native seedlings to plant in your garden this spring, but unsure of where to begin? Join us for a workshop on how to start native plant seeds in a winter greenhouse. CHPS Agriculture Specialist, Melissa Trent, will walk you through constructing a small winter greenhouse from recycled materials; planting, labelling and caring for it.

You will learn about five native plants that provide food sources and nesting habitats for polliators and where to plant them. Take your greenhouse project home to watch through the winter months and plant your hearty seedlings in the spring!

There are many wonderful activities for students through our CH Rec Dept and Library!

Dance with Me: Adult/Child Dance Class for 2-3 years old

• Come along on a dance adventure with your 2-3 year olds as we learn fun dance and play exciting games. This class is all about fun with music, dancing together, rhythm, and building confidence. It is a great opportunity to bond with your child while they learn spatial awareness, confidence, balance, and more. 2-3 year olds accompanied with a parent, caregiver, aunt, uncle, grandparent, etc. Choose a 4- or 6-week session.
