Principal Message

Dear Henry Families,

I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weekend. Fall break begins this week with an early dismissal on Thursday at 2:00 PM. We do not have school on Friday, October 11 or Monday, October 14. The weather looks promising for a wonderful fall break to make some great family memories!

Our back drive construction will begin on Thursday of this week and we hope to have a new and improved parent pick up and drop off loop when everyone returns from Fall Break. Our facilities department and contracted workers are planning to work over the Fall Break to create an easier loop for car usage in the back. I look forward to seeing the progress on Tuesday, October 15. Let's hope for cooperating weather so the project sticks to the timeline.

Nutrition Services Survey and Painting for Parkway

Library News and Notes

Collections

Does your child have a collection that they would like to display in the library? We have a new display case (thank you PTO!) to display collections at school. Please click this link to sign up for a week for your child to display their collection. All details are on the google form.

Sora

Did you know your child can check out and read Ebooks and Audiobooks anytime? Sora is available for students to read at home! Sora is our library app for reading. We use it on our Chromebooks at schools, and students in 1st-5th grade can use SORA at home by following these directions. Questions? Please email Mrs. Goyal.

Notes from Nurse Munch

Student Flu Shot Clinic October 17th

Nurses from the VNA will be at Henry Elementary on October 17 from 9:15- 11:00 am for our annual Flu Shot Clinic.

Please see the below forms for vaccine information and accepted insurances. If you would like for your child to receive this immunization at school, please complete and return the consent form (linked below) along with a copy of your insurance card by October 15th.

Dental Safari Coming to Henry October 30th

Dental Safari Company, a mobile dental corporation, that travels to schools to provide dental wellness checkups, and urgent care treatment, for children is coming to Henry on October 30th. To take part in this service, a dental consent would need to be completed and signed. Please visit www.dentalsafariforms.com to complete the online consent form.

Sign-Up for the Nov. 2nd Parkway Golf Tournament

Sign-up to play golf at the Parkway Golf Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 AM! The PAA will host this annual event again at Forest Park Golf Course.

The Parkway Golf Tournament is a fundraiser for the PAA and its hallmark programs. These programs include Granting Dreams for Parkway students, the Albert Awards for exceptional new teachers, Teacher of the Year awards and the Light of Parkway Awards for outstanding support staff.

4th Grade Parents Stock the Lounge Request by 10/18

ATTENTION 4TH GRADE PARENTS: Please help us stock the lounge for the teachers/staff/administration. 4th Grade is responsible for the month of October. Please see the Sign Up Genius and sign up to bring items. You can drop off at the school office by the morning of Friday, 10/18.

Register to Attend Henry's Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, 10/18

Join the fun at Henry Elementary's Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat on Friday, October 18th! Please complete this form and submit participation fee ($20 per family) via the payment portal that will appear upon submitting this form.

Your $20 participation fee supports the Henry PTO which directly supports our school and students. Part of the fee will be used to purchase candy for the event. There is no need to bring your own candy this year.
