We hope you've enjoyed the first few days of summer! In this newsletter, we're celebrating the TCHS Class of 2024, as well as spotlighting the exceptional work of students in our classrooms and across our community.

Projects from last school year's bond elections are underway, and summer highlights include new playground shade structure installation, new furniture, flooring and casework replacements, track and field lighting at all five high schools, and more. Thank you, voters!

New flooring is being installed in select areas at Griffin Middle School, and casework (cabinets, built-in shelves, etc.) is being removed and replaced at Morningside Elementary this summer.

Lewisville ISD’s Technology, Exploration and Career Center East campus (TECC-East) recently broke ground on its facility expansion. This construction was approved by voters in the 2017 bond election and will be the final major project from the 2017 referendum. READ MORE

Through the Collegiate Academy at the Colony High School, 76 seniors were able to earn 4,928 credit hours from Collin College, graduating with both a high school diploma and an associate's degree. The fourth cohort of the program also earned nearly $4 million in scholarships, prior to walking the stage. READ MORE

Lewisville ISD students are seeing gold after the district recently hosted its 15th annual Job Olympics.

LISD high school students competing in the milestone Olympiad showcased their skills in events aimed to provide meaningful activities for students with a cognitive disability. LISD Life Skills courses available across the district provide opportunities for students to learn functional skills such as folding laundry, sorting mail, data entry, vacuuming and more. Students also learn effective tips for interviews and how to complete job applications. READ MORE

Students from Memorial Elementary learned about the science behind the milk that shows up at our grocery stores. WATCH NOW

Camey students focused on fun, engaging indoor learning activities for their inaugural Academic Field Day event. SEE MORE

Griffin Middle School hosted the campus's inaugural Red Carpet Awards Night, recognizing students for their academic achievements. SEE MORE

Students in the Peters Colony Elementary Horticulture Club tend to the school's garden, gaining valuable knowledge and skills. SEE MORE

Ethridge recently celebrated the work that first grade students put into writing and illustrating their own books by hosting a tea party, complete with special guests and student read-alouds. SEE MORE

The Colony Fire Department spent time with Morningside fifth graders to teach them CPR and how to use AED machines in case of emergencies. SEE MORE

Students in Lakeview Middle School's human services class partnered with Ethridge Elementary to create hand-sewn monsters based on the drawings and descriptions of third graders. SEE MORE

TCHS graduates visit BB Owen Elementary one final time to walk the halls before graduation. SEE MORE

• Courtney Abernathy, Lakeview Middle School | "In this whirlwind of a year Courtney Abernathy has been an ear to listen and a hand to help! Mrs. Abernathy's contribution to Lakeview Middle School is invaluable, our collective success is dependent upon her brilliance. Thank you for all that you do for Lakeview students, staff, parents, and leadership! You are an exemplary colleague and a valued member of our learning community!"
  
• Petritch Graham, Morningside Elementary | "Mrs. Graham has helped me through math SOOO much. So today I will be recognizing her because she actually helped me understand math. I love you Mrs.Graham!"
  

LISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) provide students hands-on learning to build the knowledge and skill necessary to be successful as they prepare to attend college, enter the workforce or enlist in military service.

Students from the TECC-West Culinary program recently competed in the annual Taste of the Cowboys cooking competition. WATCH

Lewisville ISD's TECC-East campus recently accepted the generous donation of a brand-new Lincoln Aviator from Ford Motor Company and Sam Pack Five Star Ford in Lewisville. READ MORE

Students from all five Lewisville ISD high schools earned professional certifications through the district's CTE programs. LISD professional partners have also already committed to hiring many students upon graduating, or after completing company-specific education or training courses.
