News for January 9, 2025
I hope everyone enjoyed some family and rest time over Winter Break. Each year I enjoy the change of pace and routine and then am ready to be back at school. Rest is good for all of us! And it's great to see our Eagles rested and jumping right back into learning.
We have a few upcoming family events in January that I hope to see many of you at. And then in February we will have conferences where more specifics about your child's learning and growth will be shared. It is an exciting time of year at Edgerton!
Tuesday, January 21 at 6:00 pm
On Tuesday, January 21, we will watch a video of Dr. James Densley speaking to Roseville community members about school safety. Several of us were in attendance at this event on November 20 and it was a powerful experience. We want to share it with a wider Edgerton community.
Dr. Densley is a nationally recognized violence prevention expert, award-winning author, and co-founder of The Violence Prevention Project. He is also a professor and department chair of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Metro State University.
Join us in the cafeteria at 6:00 for a screening. Your presence and partnership matter—let's work together to make our schools safe for everyone! And stay for a brief discussion and PTA meeting afterwards around 7:00 pm.

Minnesota Student Survey for 5th graders
Roseville Area Schools is asking students in grade 5 to participate in the 2025 Minnesota Student Survey (MSS). The MSS is conducted in schools across our state every three years.
Questions on the survey are about many topics relating to young people’s lives. The survey asks about how well school is going, future plans, out-of-school activities, physical and mental health, relationships, substance use and more. This useful information about their thoughts and behaviors helps communities and schools develop effective programs and provide better services.
The survey is anonymous. To prevent individuals or families from being identified, students do not provide their names, student identification numbers or personal information.
The survey is voluntary. You may choose to have your child not take the survey by completing and returning the form below. Students may also decline to take any part of the survey or the whole survey. They are informed of that option by staff.
You have the right to review a copy of the survey. For details on how to do this or for any other questions about the survey, please contact Lindsay Most by email (lindsay.most@isd623.org) or by phone at 651-604-3742.
The Minnesota Student Survey will be administered at Edgerton on February 7.
If you do not want your child to take the Minnesota Student Survey, please complete this online form or call Lindsay Most (651-604-3742).
