If you are interested in joining us for Field Day by running a station, being a timekeeper, filling water buckets, etc., please go to the following link https://signup.com/go/dLLbjYb and sign up for a spot no later than Sunday, June 2nd. Please make sure you sign up for the correct grade level. Please note that if it rains on Thursday June 6th, all students will have field day on Friday, June 7th. Senior Breakfast
This year the graduating seniors will be going back to their elementary schools for a senior breakfast. We are excited to host our Byam alumni and send them off in style. Thank you to the BSA for supporting this innaugural event.
Reminder Please Take Part In Participating in Our Byam Family Survey Below...
Dear Byam and Chelmsford Families,
Our district values your feedback! We are currently surveying The Chelmsford Public Schools families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district's effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think.
To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2024 Family Survey as we did in 2023 as well. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district as good as they can be.
You may complete the survey online through Friday June 14th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website below.
https://surveys.panoramaed.com/chelmsfordma/family24/surveys
We also have a QR code below to access the same survey if preferred.
If you have multiple CPS school-aged children, please feel free to fill out multiple surveys to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question on the survey will be a dropdown to select which school you are filling the survey out for.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us, your building Principals.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Important Notes from Nurse Regan
Pick Up of Medications
All medications need to be picked up from the Nurse’s Office by a parent/guardian or other responsible adult on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 12, between 8:30am – 11:30am, and 12:30-3:00pm. Items not picked up by 3:00pm on Wednesday, June 12 will be disposed of per district policy.
Asthma, Diabetes, Allergy, Seizure (and Other) Health Plans with Medication Requirements
If your child has asthma, diabetes, allergy which requires epinephrine, seizure, or other medical condition that requires special care or medication, each school year the condition related health form must be completed and returned to the health office by the first day of school.
Forms may be found on the school website under Department “Health Services” then “Health Forms.” Medication for school use must be turned in to the health office by a parent or responsible adult and not by your child. Please make sure all forms are completed, front and back sides. If you have any questions, please contact the nurse during school hours.
A Message for current Grade 2 Parents
In accordance with Massachusetts General Law (Chapter 71, section 57) and related amendments and regulations (105 CMR 200.000-200.920), Chelmsford requires all 3rd grade students to have a current physical on file in our health office. Please keep this in mind when making appointments over the summer for physicals.
Incoming 3rd graders should have a physical dated January 2024 to December 2024 and a copy submitted to the health office by December 2024.
Notes from our Byam Librarian Mrs. Driscoll
Today was the last day students were able to check out Library books, and next week, they should return any that they have checked out. Please remind your students to get their books back to the Library on time, so Mrs. Driscoll can get the library in order for the fall! I will contact families over the next two weeks if there are any outstanding books. Thank you for your continued support of literacy and libraries!! I encourage all students to participate in the Chelmsford Public Library Summer Reading Challenge https://www.chelmsfordlibrary.org/kids/summer-reading/ and to use the library often this summer and all year!

Multicultural Festival Planning
We are in the very beginning stages of planning Byam's first multicultural festival for the 2024-25 school year. We are looking for families that would be interested in participating in this inaugural "Celebrating Us" event. We are envisioning a festival that includes poster boards/booths, crafts, food tastings and performances where families can share their traditions and cultures with the Byam community. Please be on the lookout for more information and a quick interest survey that will be included in our communications in the coming weeks.
Byam Substitute Pool SY2324 Come Join Us!

Byam Musical "The Claw"
Our amazing Byam actors put on two great performances this week of "The Claw". One evening performance for families and a daytime performance for students and staff. They brought the house down in both! A big thank you to Katie Rey for her wonderful directing of this memorable musical.
4th Grade States Festival
Our 4th graders hosted Byam's annual "States Festival" on Wednesday. The students displayed their knowledge of their adopted state and acted as tour guides as they brought families on a trip across America. They also performed some songs to highlight all they've learned.
