Masks required starting Sept. 1
Caldwell School Board OKs mask requirement through Oct. 14.
August 31, 2021
Dear Caldwell Families,
I want to update you on some action taken by the Board of Trustees at their Special Meeting on Monday, August 30. After receiving testimony regarding district attendance rates, COVID-19 data and information, the Board of Trustees voted to approve an indoor mask mandate for all District students and staff through October 14, 2021. The mandate goes into effect on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. The mask requirement also applies to school transportation.
The Board will continue to review school based data at upcoming meetings to determine if other action will need to be taken.
The goal of the district is to keep school open and students attending every day.
We encourage our families to support this goal by doing the following to reduce the spread of the virus in our schools:
Please do not send your children to school if they are sick or have been exposed to a COVID positive individual or family member;
If your child is waiting on a COVID test result, please do not send them to school;
Please consider getting a COVID vaccination for individuals age 12 or older in your family. Recently, the Pfizer vaccine was fully approved by the FDA. Here’s a site to schedule an appointment: https://phd3.idaho.gov/covid19/#Vaccine.
As a reminder, visitors to our schools are required to wear masks.
We appreciate your partnership during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Dr. N. Shalene French
Superintendent
