Happy Friday, everyone!

I wanted to share some fun pictures from Advanced Photography's recent field trip to San Francisco! If you have any of these students, thank you so much for allowing them to miss class so that they could attend and participate in this enriching day. 🙂

During our trip last Friday, we had a jam-packed day visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, deYoung Fine Art Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, and the Conservatory of Flowers. Students got to put their photography skills to the test as they explored these beautiful locations — focusing on compositional techniques, the elements of art, and adjusting their camera settings and equipment in various environments.

We had a wonderful day and I'm so grateful to have this awesome group of kids. Check out the photos to see CHS photographers in action! 📸

Senior News

Aidan Nielsen! 🎵💜

Aidan is one of our clarinet section leaders! He has played the clarinet for 8 years! 👑

Outside of band Aidan occasionally plays chess and last year was a part of the Chico High Chess Club! Aidan has also obtained the Seal of Biliteracy for his years committed to learning Spanish!♟️

In his free time Aidan enjoys mountain biking, playing the piano, hiking, reading, and camping! 🎹

After high school, Aidan plans to continue his education, likely to a UC!

We will miss Aidan! ❤️💛

Gioella Pennisi! 🎵💚💜

Gioella has beautifully played the euphonium for 7 years and is our low brass section leader! 👑

Outside of band Gioella plays field hockey for the Chico High team, which she is the Team Captain of! Additionally, Gioella also plays softball and is part of the KLEAN club! 🏑

In Gioella's free time, she enjoys drawing, knitting, and biking! 🚲

After high school, Gioella plans to play softball at Sac City College! 🥎

It's been a pleasure to have Gioella in our band! ❤️💛

Chico High Bench Refurbishment and Rehabilitation

Hey Panthers! Tired of looking for open benches at lunch, just to finally find one and the boards are missing? Have you seen one of the benches in disrepair here on campus and been tired of it? Good news!

I’m undertaking the task of campus restoration and rehabilitation for my Eagle Scout project as a member of Chico’s Boy Scout Troop 3. I’m going to replace all of the broken and missing boards on the benches on campus, including the two completely empty ones over by the S-building. I’ll also be improving the area around the bench in the second photo, but I can’t do all this by myself.

I’m asking for donations, any of which would be greatly appreciated. For those willing to donate, please put your donation in a sealed envelope, labeled “Zach Norlie - Boy Scout Troop 3”. Checks can be made out to Boy Scout Troop 3 as well. Physical materials such as boards can also be donated, so reach out to me at znorlie842593@gmail.com to discuss the donation of materials!
