Dear VRE Families,
I can't believe another wonderful school year is coming to an end. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your unwavering support, dedication, and involvement have made this year truly exceptional. From volunteering in classrooms, helping with classroom parties, to attending school events, your commitment to your child's education has not gone unnoticed.
As we head into the summer break I hope each of you enjoy sun-filled days and fun-filled activities. Whether you're planning a family vacation or simply spending quality time together at home, we hope this summer brings joy, laughter, and cherished memories for you and your loved ones.
While the break offers a chance for relaxation and adventure, we also want to emphasize the importance of keeping students engaged during the summer months. To help foster continued academic growth, here are a few math and reading tips to incorporate into your summer routine:
💡 Math Tips:
- Encourage your child to practice basic math skills through everyday activities such as cooking, shopping, and budgeting.
- Explore math-related games and puzzles that make learning enjoyable.
- Utilize educational apps and websites that offer interactive math exercises tailored to your child's grade level and learning style.
💡 Reading Tips:
- Create a cozy reading nook at home and encourage daily reading time, allowing your child to choose books that interest them.
- Visit your local library or bookstore regularly to discover new books and participate in summer reading programs.
- Engage in discussions about the books your child reads, asking questions to deepen comprehension and critical thinking skills.
📅 Mark your calendars!
- On Thursday, August 1st from 4:30- 5:00, we will have our PreK Meet the Teacher, and 5:00- 5:30 pm, we will have our annual Popsicles at the Playground for our PreK and Kindergarten families.
- Our Kindergarten- 5th grade Meet the Teacher event will take place on August 12th from 7:30-8:30 am. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to meet their new teacher, tour the classroom, and learn about exciting plans for the upcoming school year.
- And finally, a friendly reminder that the first day of school is scheduled for August 13th. We're eagerly anticipating the return of our students and the start of another amazing year together.
