Fall Features
November-December
Dear Crownhill Families,
No matter how hard I try to hang on to the summer heat, eventually I have to embrace that the weather changes and it is time to put the swimsuit and t-shirts away (believe it or not, this only happened a few weeks ago). As the fall season brings colorful changes all around us, we’re embracing change as a theme here at Crownhill this year. This year has been a time for exploring new ideas, trying fresh approaches, and adapting strategies to meet the unique needs of our students. Just as the leaves transform, we're excited to grow and evolve together, fostering a school environment that welcomes curiosity, resilience, and innovation. We are excited for the many upcoming events and opportunities to connect as a school community. November and December are busy months that are filled with learning, celebrations, and more. As always, we are committed to ensuring a positive school experience for each student and appreciate your continued partnership.
Supporting Our Students Through an Equitable Lens
At Crownhill Elementary, we believe in supporting the needs of all students first through an equitable lens, providing every child with the opportunity to thrive. Our goal is to create an inclusive and respectful environment where each student feels valued and ready to learn. While we are deep into the school year, we felt that a refresher of our approach and sharing some resources would be valuable. If you would like to read more, please reference the Bremerton School District Student Handbook. This has ample information on our approach to supporting student needs, harassments or bullying, attendance and more.

Winter Celebrations
In December, classrooms will celebrate the season through inclusive, cultural activities that showcase the diversity within our community. Teachers will share more details with families about specific plans for each class.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making Crownhill a great place for our students to learn and grow.

Arrivall/Dismissal Procedure:
Please take a look at the procedures outlined below. We will be posting signage to help ensure safety and efficiency during arrival/dismissal times.
- Please be as fast as possible when picking up your child, especially k-1. If your child likes to play with friends or you have to talk to their teacher, please find a parking space. While 5 minutes might not seem like a long time, the line of cars waiting to pull forward can be greatly impacted by it. Thank you.
Please use this link for our arrival/dismissal procedures (tips and helpful information for students transported by car).
As a reminder:
- School starts at 8:55 daily (staff supervision starts at 8:50, any students onsite before 8:50 must be accompanied by an adult)
- Dismissal is at 3:35 M/T/Th/F (1:40 Wednesday)
Lost and Found:
We are accumulating many coats, sweatshirts and jackets. If you child comes home missing one, please stop by and look for it! With parent teacher conferences coming up, please take a minute to search for missing items before or after your conference. Finally, labeling all clothing, especially jackets and sweatshirts, is always a good idea!
Our Crownhill Mission: "We ensure high levels of learning for all to prepare students to achieve their future goals."
Our Crownhill Vision: "Our Crownhill community is safe for ALL to learn and grow."
