WEEK IN REVIEW

Dear Patriot Families,

We have finished week three of the 24-25 school year. It has been wonderful to watch all of our new students become comfortable with our campus and our faculty and staff. Last Monday, we had our first School Advisory Council meeting; the next SAC meeting is 9/16 and we will share PATHS School Improvement Plan as well as our goals for Title I. Tuesday brought a flurry of activity in Building 5 as we held Club Rush. Students could move around the building and gather information on specific clubs and sign up to become a member. If there is a club we do not have that your student may be interested in, encourage him or her to write a proposal and email it to me. Wednesday brought us our first STAR Patriot celebration. We had 22 students nominated by teachers, admin, or staff. Students receive a certificate which is read aloud for all to hear as to why the are a STAR. Each nominated student could bring two friends and we opened the room up to a private Game Day just for them. We also finished our first round of ELA progress monitoring; you may view your child's score in Focus. Our ELA teachers will be drilling down to assist students who may need a little extra help in certain areas. Wishing everyone a fun and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. We will see everyone on Tuesday!

Mr. Thuesen is joining our math department. He is a recent graduate from the University of Florida. We are lucky to have him.

*Sept. 30 Prestige Photo will be on campus to take senior portraits for students who have not taken them yet. See Ms. Sharnalata in portable 612 to sign up.

*Open House is Sept. 23 at 5:30. We will rotate through your student's schedule by period, so plan to attend right at 5:30. Please note that oTECH teachers will not participate, so you will not be able to rotate through your junior or senior's full schedule.

if your child needs to leave early for a medical appointment/early dismissal, please sign him/her out at the Front Office NO LATER than 1:30 p.m. Only those authorized to ckeck them out will be allowed to leave with your child. All students' grades 9th-12th will require an authorized adult to pick them up early. We are not allowing parents to call in to let their child leave. This is for security and the care for your child.
