Introducing Career Services & Mrs. Campman
New for the 2024-2025 school year, Loyalsock Township School District has added the role of a School Counselor specific to Career Services.
Mrs. Campman has been a high school counselor since 2013. The biggest joy in her career has always been creating community partnerships and helping Loyalsock students achieve their goals. She is looking forward to having the opportunity to continue to do so in a different role.
On a personal note, Mrs. Campman is a proud resident of Loyalsock and loves having the opportunity to make an impact in our own community. She is married to Jarrin and has 3 young daughters, which take up most of her free time 🙂
A few special events and opportunities you can expect from Career Services this year include:
Career Café: A lunchtime series where middle and high school students will have the chance to hear from different career representatives and gain insights into various professions.
- Career and Post-Secondary Tours and Fairs: Events where students can connect with potential employers and post-secondary programs and learn about different career paths.
- Career Experts in the Classroom: Facilitating and coordinating lessons with professionals who can share their real-world experiences in various classes.
- Classroom Lessons, Events, & Workshops: Developing lessons, events, and workshops that connect academic learning with future opportunities. For the high school, this includes college application and financial aid workshops, reviving an old favorite – “Pearls of Wisdom” with our LTHS graduates, and Senior Commitment Day.
- Resume Writing and Mock Interviews: Upperclassmen at the high school will begin crafting resumes and preparing for interviews in collaboration with the LTHS English department, Mr. Van Fleet, and the counselors.
ASVAB with the Class of 2026
On Tuesday, September 24, students in the Class of 2026 will be required to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). This will take place in the Auditorium during blocks 1, 2, and into period 5.
The ASVAB is a requirement for someone planning to enter the military. Their test results allow them to enlist and qualify for specialized positions by showing their knowledge and abilities in different areas. However, because the ASVAB can help all students identify which career areas they are best suited for, LTSD requires all juniors to complete this assessment. Research has shown that students who take the ASVAB experience less career indecision and will more thoughtfully consider their career options. Another benefit of taking the ASVAB is that a student's score could meet their required graduation pathway.
Snacks & Apps/Instant Decision Days for Seniors
Fuel Your Future: Work on Your College Apps with Snacks & Support!
We are offering a new event called "Snacks & Apps" this year. Seniors will have the opportunity to sign up for a block (or blocks!) of time to work on their college applications in the HS Library. Students can choose a time on October 1, 2, or 3. In collaboration with the high school counselors, Mrs. Turi & Mrs. Rippey, Mrs. Campman will be available to help seniors complete their college applications. This also gives seniors the opportunity to have a block of uninterrupted time to work on their apps, knowing that there is support of a counselor available.
We will also have several local admissions representatives in to do "Instant Decision Days." For these events, seniors will find out if they are accepted to the representing college or university on the spot, after they complete their application. Seniors must sign up for these events separately by clicking below on the school(s) name/link in order to take part in Instant Decision Day(s). Participating schools are: Commonwealth University (October 1), Pennsylvania College of Technology (October 1), and Lycoming College (October 3).
Snacks will be provided for students to enjoy while they are working on their applications. 🙂
Where: HS Library, Computer Lab
When: October 1, 2, or 3 (Tuesday - Thursday)
Why Attend?
- Focused Time: Enjoy uninterrupted time to work on your college applications.
- Guidance: Get help from the counseling department to polish your apps.
- Snacks: Enjoy complimentary snacks while you work!
Important Note: Choose a time when you’re not missing a core class. If you need to miss any class, you must get permission from your teacher to attend.
What is Career Café?

Some things our guests might share during Career Cafe:

- Important things students can do NOW to set themselves up for success in a similar career
WHO: Any student in grades 6-12 can sign up to attend Career Cafe.
WHEN: During student lunches with the likelihood of going into Lancer Period (for HS students only). Typically, at least one professional will visit every 2 weeks.
