Decision Day
May 1 is nationally recognized as Decision Day.
Decision Day is the national deadline for college admissions responses, which means that after months of researching and visiting schools, writing essays, completing applications, and going on interviews, seniors are choosing where they will spend the next few years of their lives.
Top 10% Dinner
Your BBCHS Class of 2024 - Top 10%
Students in the top ten percent of the senior class are given the opportunity to thank and recognize a teacher or staff member who played an influential role throughout their high school career. This night is always a reminder of the influence of a dedicated teaching staff.

Enchanted Prom
Prom night was an unforgettable experience. With the enchanted theme, the venue was transformed into a fairytale. Students created memories that will last a lifetime!
Teacher Appreciation Week
We had an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week put on by student council. The week included personalized thank-you messages from students, a wellness day with massages, a luncheon catered by Jimmy Jos, a staff student basketball game, and so much more! Huge thank you to student council for going above and beyond to make our staff feel so valued.
Sophomore Physical Education Completes Triathlon
Sophomore physical education classes completed their annual triathlon. Students prepare for this event throughout the school year. The triathlon includes swimming, cycling, and running segments. Not only does it test stamina and versatility, but it also showcases the growth and perseverance of each student.
Class of 2024 Walks the Stage
Congratulations to the BBCHS Class of 2024! 🎓 We are so proud of our graduates, who have worked tirelessly to reach this significant milestone. As they step into the next chapter of their lives, we celebrate their achievements and look forward to seeing the incredible futures they will create. Here's to the Class of 2024!
Pre-AP Biology visits Perry Farm
Pre-AP Biology students took advantage of the beautiful summer weather and headed over to Perry Farm. Students reviewed content from the year by observing first hand the concepts of the ecology, evolution, cues, and genetics.
Boiler Block Enrichment Spotlight
Bettering Boilers Applies for Nourishing Neighbors Grant Through Jewel Osco
The Bettering Boilers program is a student ran organization with a goal to feed the students and families of BBCHS. Students put together the video below as their submission to the Nourishing Neighbors Grant through Jewel Osco in order to be able to continue to fund their efforts.

Sweeney Todd Wins IHSMTA Best Ensemble
Illinois High School Music Theatre Awards voted the BBCHS production of Sweeney Todd as Best Ensemble. This recognition celebrates the exceptional talent of our students and honors the collective effort of the ensemble. Huge congratulations to the BBCHS Theater Department for this well deserved award!
Tyran Bender - SWSC Track Athlete of the Year
Tyran Bender was named SWSC Track Athlete of the Year
SWSC Meet - 100m, 200m, 400m Champion
School Records:
- 400m - 48.44
- 4X100 - 42.51
- 4X400 3:21.52
Madeline Mellin Breaks School Record
Maddie ran an 11:13.02 in the 3200 (2 mile) at the state meet to set the new school record!
Baseball - Regional Champions
BBCHS Baseball was named Regional Champions against Plainfield Central and beat out Normal Community in the first round of Sectionals.
Softball - Regional Champions
Softball was named Regional Champs for the third year in a row. The softball season came to a close with a loss to Minooka in the Sectional Semifinals. Looking forward to see what they can accomplish next year!
Badminton State Qualifiers
Badminton had three students qualify for state! Congrats Boilers!

Coach Keith Martin lead Boys Water Polo to the Sectional Championship Game for the first time in school history!
Female Senior Athlete of the Year
Emmerson Longtin: Volleyball/Basketball/Softball/Tennis/Track -will play volleyball at McKendree University next year
Ellie Haggard: Volleyball/Basketball/Softball- will play softball at University of Illinois
Male Senior Athlete of the Year
Tyran Bender: Football/Basketball/Track - will move on to run track at Wisconsin Oshkosh
Aj Mancilla: Football/Wrestling- will move on to play football at North Central College

Parents of Incoming Freshmen (Current 8th Graders): All incoming freshmen will be required to have an Illinois School Physical completed between August 21, 2023 and August 15, 2024. Students who are not in compliance will be excluded from classes beginning on the first day of school. Please read the attached letter below for more details about this compliance.
Parents of Rising Seniors (Current Juniors): For 12th grade entry, a second dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine is required to be on file with the school nurse’s office before August 16, 2024. Students who are not in compliance will be excluded from classes beginning on the first day of school. Please read the attached letter below for more details about this compliance.
Senior Student Receives Full Ride Scholarship
Gabriel Earsley received a full ride scholarship paid for by AHW LLC John Deer to attend the Lake Land College John Deere Tech program. He will be beginning in the fall taking courses toward his associate’s degree in applied science. Congratulations Gabriel!
