Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year
Dear Families,
We are excited to welcome just about 500 students back to Lisbon Elementary School on Monday, August 26. Our incredible staff is busy preparing for our student's arrival, and we cannot wait to see our amazing students. We hope to see you at our open house sessions on Friday. During open house, please visit your child's current teacher. It is not a time to visit other classrooms.
We want to thank all our families who attended our Back-to-School nights this week. We enjoyed welcoming new families and reconnecting with returning families.
Our theme for this year is Go For The Gold! We believe that "The more you dream, the more you achieve". Here at Lisbon, we believe in our students, our staff, and our community! Our staff made a welcome video for our students and community to kick off the year.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday!
Mrs. Debra A. Anoff, Principal
Mr. Bradley Scobie, Assistant Principal

First Day of School
Please do not drop your child off without supervision prior to 9:00 a.m.
There is no supervision of students before 9:05 a.m.
Kindergarten Students: All Kindergarten students will be met at the front main doors and hallways. Kindergarten students only will be gathered in the cafeteria and will be escorted to their classroom together with their teacher for the first three days of school.
Bus Riders: It is very important to put your child on the bus on the first day. Students who ride buses will have their bus number tagged onto their backpack with a wristband strip.
Please leave the bus tag on their backpack. This helps us help students get on their buses in the afternoon throughout the school year. Additionally, students in Kindergarten will have a luggage tag attached to their backpack. The luggage tag helps bus drivers know which students are Kindergarten students so they can help them situate on the bus in the morning and get off the bus in the afternoon at the correct bus stop.Lisbon Arrival and Dismissal Procedures and Times
Students can begin to enter the building at 9:00 a.m. and the late bell rings at 9:15 a.m. Students must remain in their cars with parents until a staff member is present on duty in the car loop at 9:00 a.m. Breakfast is optional and available for purchase (may be at a free/reduced price - see information below about how to apply for free or reduced meals). Students will be provided adequate time to eat breakfast. Students are dismissed at 3:45 p.m.
Car Loop Arrival and Dismissal Guidelines
Welcome to another school year at Lisbon Elementary School. In an effort to make the drop off and pick up of students flow as smoothly and safely as possible, we have the following guidelines. We would appreciate your adherence as a consideration to others:
1. When entering the loop, please drive all the way forward. You do not need to wait until you are at the front of the line to allow your child out of the car – we can unload 3-4 cars at one time.
2. Please DO NOT PASS another vehicle while in the carpool line unless directed to do so by a staff member. It is extremely dangerous for vehicles to pull around other vehicles. We appreciate your patience.
3. Please DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED EITHER FOR ARRIVAL OR DISMISSAL. If you need to get out of your car, you should park your car in the overflow lot and walk your child over to the school. Please kiss your children and give them their backpack and lunch boxes before you get into your car at home. The drop off loop needs to run safely and efficiently, therefore, take care of good-byes and last minute issues ahead of time.
4. Students should only be dropped off & picked up curbside. Please do not allow your children to exit or enter the vehicle on the driver’s side. Students are not permitted to walk across the carloop without a staff member to meet you on the other side.
5. Please do not back up or do a “U turn” at the entrance to the loop.
6. Exit by driving straight out of the loop to either Church Alley or Rte. 144. DO NOT drive thru the bus lanes.
7. Parents with handicapped students should park in the designated handicapped parking spaces if the student needs assistance entering or exiting the car.
8. For the safety of our students, please do NOT drop them off prior to 9:00 a.m.

LES Master Schedule 2024-2025
Related Arts and the Color Calendar Schedule
Students participate in Related Arts daily for one hour. There are five related arts classes: Art, Media, Music, Physical Education, and Technology. The rotating schedule is called the Related Arts Color Calendar. We rotate days using the color calendar because there are a disproportional number of days off on Mondays and Fridays. This used to mean students would have up to 6 fewer Monday or Friday related arts versus the other classes and days of the week. Your child's teacher will share their specific color calendar schedule with you and your child. You can refer to the color calendar above. It is very important to make sure your child dresses appropriately for the classes he/she has for related arts, especially for physical education
School Supply List
Please find our K-5 grade level supply list here for the 2024-2025 school year! Families may recycle and reuse your previous year's supplies when possible.
Elementary Student Cell-Phone Usage Policy
Families are reminded that students must abide by Board of Education Policy 8080 Responsible Use of Technology, Digital Tools, and Social Media, and specifically Standard E. Student Use-Technology, which states that “HCPSS permits students to bring personal technology devices to school, according to the following rules:
Elementary Schools – Students will keep personal technology devices in backpacks during the school day, unless otherwise authorized by school administrators or instructional staff.New! Student Meals & Payments
New for the 2024-25 school year, HCPSS no longer will use Nutrislice for school menus or MySchoolBucks for payment. Instead, we have a new parent site for all things food and nutrition. LINQ Connect is a secure, online portal that allows families to make online payments to their child’s meal account, monitor their child’s account, schedule automatic recurring payments, set up low balance alerts, submit a Free and Reduced Meals program application, and more.
Free and Reduced Meals - check your eligibility today!
Students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price. Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees, and many others in addition to free or discounted meals. Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.
