Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to announce that school bus transportation will be available for eligible students starting next school year!

📅 Start Date: September 2025
🕖 Bus Hours: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
🏫 School Hours: 7:25 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Eligibility: Students must live more than 0.7 miles from the school to qualify for bus transportation. BPS determines eligibility based on the address on file for your student(s).
🏡 Required: Families must provide up-to-date proof of residence for bus registration. If you move during the year, we need an updated proof of residency to change your bus route. The bus requires 2 weeks for a change, so please provide up-to-date evidence of residence as soon as possible.

📝 Registration Details: We will share information with the district for students who reside in Buffalo. They will then develop bus routes and communicate directly with the families. If you live in any district besides Buffalo, please contact their registration department to sign up for a bus. You can sign up immediately for all districts besides Buffalo for this school year.

National Grid STEM Mentoring Program

A partnership between National Grid, UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Westminster Community Charter School

Hands-on science experiments at UB together with in-classroom science lessons, form the basis of the UB-National Grid-Westminster Community Charter School partnership.

UB and National Grid collaborate to bring scientists and engineers to Buffalo Promise Neighborhood School Westminster Community Charter School (WCCS), once a month to guide students through structured, hands-on science experiments. UB faculty and staff utilize a combination of professional online teaching resources and qualitative feedback from BPN teachers to develop our 60-minute lessons.

STEM Exploration Week

Every January, all Westminster Community Charter School students do hands-on science experiments with scientists and engineers in Davis Hall at UB. These field trips allow students to participate in various science and engineering-themed activities with practical applications. Student favorites include hovercraft rides, building balloon-powered vehicles, making solar-powered lanterns, and testing wind turbine blades.

We are excited to announce our Recruitment Referral Program — and give you a chance to win a $100 Gift Card in our weekly drawing!

Our school family is growing, and we believe great families know great families. If you refer a new family to WCCS, you'll be entered into a weekly drawing for a $100 gift card as a thank-you for helping our community grow!

How It Works:

1. Tell your friends, neighbors, and family about WCCS and encourage them to learn more.

2. Either send in the following information or add it to the referral form.

4. Winners are drawn every Friday and notified by phone. Make sure the office has your correct phone number.

Please share the link with anyone looking for an excellent school for their students next year. Westminster is doing great in our Academics. When compared to the K-8 Buffalo Schools, Westminster scored 1st in Science, 2nd in ELA, and 3rd in Math. We also did better than many other Charter Schools, such as CSAT, Elmwood Village Hertel, Buffalo United, Reach Academy, Charter School of Inquiry, and King Center, to name a few. The application link is below. If you have a rising Kindergartener please apply for them to secure their spot. If your child is currently enrolled you do no need to complete an application.
