Message from the Superintendent
Dear Topeka Public Schools Staff and Families:
What an incredible year! Click here to view the end-of-year video message that highlights our staff and students.
Thank you for helping us have such a successful year. In addition to our scholars gaining over $13 million in academic scholarships, some of the many accomplishments this year include:
- Multiple students were Governor's Scholars
- Topeka West took 1st place in 5A State Tennis Championship
- Topeka High School boys baseball team advanced to the 2023 State Tournament after winning the Regional Championship on May 17
- Preliminary state test results show elementary schools increased in performance
- Math teacher Mrs. Cherryl Delacruz was selected as the Region 2 Kansas Teacher of the Year
- Multiple students and staff members won local, state, and national awards
- 2 National Merit Finalists were selected from Topeka Public Schools
Additionally, as a result of a competitive grant our nutrition team wrote and was awarded, over the next three school years, Topeka Public Schools will be the only district in Kansas offering school lunch to all students at no cost to families, saving all families funds they would normally be using for lunch fees.
This year was our first year in school full-time following the pandemic and through our incredible educators, our students and staff have celebrated so many accomplishments, and the momentum will continue into next school year.
Thank you for your support and we wish all of our families a wonderful summer. We look forward to seeing many of you in the summer extended academy.
Dr. Tiffany Anderson
Superintendent

Principal Stacy Schreiner Retiring After 30 Years of Service to TPS
Mrs. Schreiner has been planning her retirement throughout the year which has allowed the district to select and announce Ms. Kathy Cooney, Principal of McCarter Elementary, to serve as Principal at Landon next year.
Over her 30 year career in Topeka Public Schools, Mrs. Schreiner has served as a principal, an assistant principal, and an instructional staff member who taught literacy courses and science.
