A Note from Our Principals
Hello Waubesa Families,
Weโre so excited we get to be the principals of such a positive school and community. Thank You! for your effort and support in making the start of the year such a success. We appreciate you paying attention to all of the messages and details shared to ensure your child is ready to learn each day.
Right now, more than ever, all of us are having to use this growth mindset as we continue to navigate so many new things each day. We promote with students the importance of having a growth mindset by encouraging effort and recognizing that when a student doesn't know something, we let them know โyou donโt know it, YET!โ The opposite is a fixed mindset, which is a belief that our talents, intelligence, and abilities are fixed traits. We ask that you please reinforce this same message as students can be very hard on themselves when theyโre not successful the first time. We remind students that all of us, including adults, experience the discomfort of not knowing something but working through that discomfort is part of the learning process. Please take a moment to view this short clip โGrowth Mindset Animation.โ
Forward Exam Spring Results: In the Spring of 2024, students in grades 3-10 took the Forward Exam. This is our state test for ELA and math in grades 3-8 as well as science in grades 4 and 8 and social studies in grades 4, 8 and 10. Results from this assessment will be emailed to families on Tuesday, September 10th along with a cover letter that contains more information. Additional information about the Forward Exam is available online here.
If you have any questions or suggestions throughout the school year, we encourage you to use this form. We appreciate hearing directly from families when they have questions or concerns; thank you.
Soaring Higher Together!

Brooke Hauser: K-5 Associate Principal
